The UI has been significantly updated since the last time I used Crowdin. There is now less friction and it doesn't get in the way of getting things done.

There are minor bugs here and there, but they don't affect how I view Crowdin as a service. I like what it provides. No negative experience from me.

Great software overall however lacks new and innovative ideas

What do you like best about the product?
Easy and simple user interface for both new and long-time users, support for custom/small languages, free hosting for open source projects, project statistics and discussions tab
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of support for features and slow implementation on new features; especially for smaller projects. Also a lack of roles for project members making it difficult to organise projects effectively.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin allows for small languages to be added, which isn't available on other similar translation software making it more versatile and user friendly for users who wish to have smaller languages.

Best crowdsourced translation webapp

  • February 22, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Convenient user interface
Fast to load
Flexible features, such as term descriptions, comments, string replacement, approvals, votes
Very fast and helpful support
What do you dislike about the product?
It is pricey compared to competitors
It is closed source and cannot be self-hosted (only custom domain is available)
Upon creating a FOSS project, one cannot create "normal" free projects
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes voluntary translators' work more accessible by offering a convenient web-based translation interface instead of editing original files with a text editor. It allows per-term comments and issue reports, along with email notifications for new and modified terms.

Easy and fun to work with

  • February 21, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have noticed a new jigsaw-like button near the search bar that groups strings based on context. I believe this is a very useful feature since it can clear up potential semantic misunderstandings, huge props for that!
What do you dislike about the product?
I have recently tried finding out when I joined the platform and particular projects. I couldn't find such information, and the oldest result I got for my contributions in the project didn't mention me explicitly joining at the time (which I believe should be visible in user activity). I think it would be useful if users could quickly see when they joined certain projects, perhaps it could be a little note located under the project name (and available only to the user and not anyone else)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As an individual who isn't officially involved with a company, I believe Crowdin is a great way to let ordinary people such as myself contribute to big translation projects and provide a service that is satisfying for both parties.

At most, the integration of AI could help the whole process even better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am helping to my favorite apps translating them to my language and for users from my country. So many thank yous received for it.

My Experience with Crowdin

  • February 17, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Crowdin for some time now, and I can confidently say that it is an excellent platform for localization projects. What I love most about it is how it fosters collaboration among team members. Everyone can work together on a project, and the interface is so user-friendly that even beginners can easily navigate it. The platform also comes with a host of features, such as translation memory, machine translation, and quality checks, which all help ensure that translations are accurate and consistent.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there isn't much that I don't like about Crowdin. The only thing I can think of is that it can take a bit of time to set up a new project, especially if you are new to the platform. However, once you get the hang of it, it's smooth sailing from there. Plus, the support team is always on hand to help out if you run into any issues.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin solves a significant problem for me as a developer and project manager - localization. As a developer, I create software applications and Discord bots that I want to make available to a global audience. However, this requires localizing the content, which can be a daunting and time-consuming task. Crowdin also benefits me by allowing me to collaborate with other team members, whether they are translators or other developers. This collaborative environment enables us to work together seamlessly, leading to faster and more accurate translations, as well as a more robust software application or Discord bot.
