The large feature set, integration to 3rd party solutions, user experience, in context translation and openness to open-source projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really can't think of anything right now.

An All Round Solution for Everything You Need in Localization

  • January 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin in-context translation provides one of the best experiences for translators as you exactly see how your translation will be previewed in real scenarios. It doesn't specialize in single aspect of translation as other software around but every aspect: from task management to payment. You can create cost estimation, project delivery forecasting and collaborative tasks for every member. During our last year experience we have improved our translation response up to %350, as it gets easier to update things in a streamlined way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Integration the the Wordpress scenerio would be appreciated via native add-on. Word string transformation is sometimes buggy. Ability to hide tag words is missing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaborative Translation
Translation Memory
Machine translation support
Glossary Function
Task management

are the major support for multi language web applications.

Versatile localisation great for every project imaginable

  • January 25, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With many ways of integrating Crowdin with your project, it's very versatile. There are integration 'presets' available that basically work out of the box, making Crowdin stand out from its competitors.

Additionally, the editor is very easy to use for volunteers - beginning translators to veteran proofreaders. There are tons of tools, viewing options, filters, and research menus available at hand. This way, translators don't need to leave their tab when searching for a term on Wikipedia or a translation service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Up to a year ago, the developers of Crowdin did everything in their power to make the Crowdin experience as smooth as possible. Any issues would immediately be fixed manually by them. They stopped doing this, however. Now you're told to figure out a workaround by yourself. This is very disappointing and I'm sad to see the support deteriorate like this. Nevertheless, Crowdin is still a great product and the support team is good.

I've also had some hiccups regarding my payment plan in the past; using an open-source plan and GitHub education at the same time doesn't seem to work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This incredible localization platform has helped my peers and me get our projects localized. It requires basically no maintenance and everything is automatic, sparing us a lot of headaches.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider using Crowdin's GitHub integration together with an automatic merge bot like Mergify. This way, you won't have to manually squash & merge any pull requests made by Crowdin.

Centralized Translation Management with Room for Onboarding Improvement

  • January 17, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Crowdin centralizes translation workflows, which reduces manual work and helps maintain consistency across languages. The good collaboration features make it easier for us to manage translations in one place, reduce miscommunication, and keep everyone aligned. These aspects felt like more benefits compared to our previous tool, OneSky.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some advanced features have a learning curve and the initial setup can take time. Improved onboarding and clearer guidance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Crowdin to centralize translation workflows, reduce manual work, and maintain consistency across languages, which helps manage translations in one place, reduce miscommunication, and keep everyone aligned.

Easy to use translation management system incl fast, effective support team

  • January 13, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The important stuff:
- it's very easy to set up and use
- fast, dedicated support team - having able to talk to a real person within minutes is a big thing
- plenty of integration options and plugins + pretty good API / CLI + lite clients for different dev frameworks
- good development tempo and path
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few things to keep in mind:
- some configuration changes can be done by the Owner, only. In a larger org this Owner is usually someone who handles the subscription and not L10n Manager who manages the flows daily.
- new pricing schema based on "hosted words" is a bit stressful
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It just works. Ease of use and proper integration possibilities mean that we don't need additional, in-house built internal tooling, which is a blessing in the long run...

Great platform with exceptional customer service!

  • December 16, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin is a great crowdsourcing tool with some professional translation functionality as well. It dramatically simplifies content management and translator onboarding, especially for open-source projects.
Their customer service is amazing, very helpful and incredibly responsive!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some additional professional review and QA functionality could be useful, however, no other tool can really compare when it comes to crowdsourcing + translation functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin allows us to manage our translatable content much easier and provide our translators with functionality like translation memories, glossaries, context screenshots, reporting on issues and incorrect translations, etc.

A great tool for continuous localization

  • December 02, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I used a tool at my previous job and I loved everything about it. We used it for both UI and marketing collateral localization.
It was very convenient to track the changes, assign tasks, follow the progress and communicate with the translators.
API support and external integrations helped us a lot to automate our work. Also, their support was great! I'm now convincing my team to use the tool at my new place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Managing permissions was not that obvious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Continuous localization process
- Automated localization process
- Better communication with the translators
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a localization tool, go with Crowdin and you won't be disappointed!

Translation Team Lead

  • October 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The feature I love the best about Crowdin is that it allows multiple translators to translate, edit and proofread the same piece of task all at the same time without having to download a client. This is particularly helpful when you have a time-pressing task that takes three or more people to work together simultaneously. With this feature, you are even able to translate with a mobile phone on the go. It gives you so much flexibility. My team loves it!

The other feature that makes day-to-day translation easier is that Crowdin gives members the option to customize the TM reference by sliding the scale of 'showing TM suggestions with a minimum match of %'. This is so handy as we may not encounter the exact same paragraph that repeats itself in different translations but rather paragraphs that come with a mix of existing and new texts. This customization helps save a lot of time for the in-house translation team.
What do you dislike about the product?
When you accidentally clear the input when you're translating, the translation is lost and cannot be retrieved. Can we please do something about this, Crowdin engineers? Minor issue, but it's a bummer everytime it happens.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Crowdin helps our company in allowing a team of translators to work either synchronously and asynchronously. It's the go-to choice when you wanna max the efficiency.

Fully automated localization process

  • October 25, 2021
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Crowdin allows to setup a fully automated localization process, where the software development team only has to integrate the tool properly into the automated build process and to approve the pull requests coming back. A localization manager manages the translation tasks, proofreading etc. A highlight is the Crowdin customer support. It is well integrated, quick, qualified and always wants to find the best solution for the customer. If necessary they interact with the development team. A great feature is the Crowdin feature request board. We as customers can see, what is going on in terms of development and we can request missing features. My first feature request was implemented within a few months.
What do you dislike about the product?
Context screenshot previews in the translation editor are too small. The translator needs to open and close them to get the context. Maybe they could be shown larger or being enlarged on mouse hover.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fully automated localization process in our entire software development for a reasonable prize.
