A good basic test management suite

  • September 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its ease to learn how to use and basic functionality make it a good choice when needing a test management solution quickly.

Importing test cases and test requirements is easy through the import wizard. There was a little setup involved to integrate Jira with the tool but after that it was all good to go.

The dashboard is quite good and allows you to customise your own graphs and charts for each test cycle.

The tool has support for multiple platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pricing model changed every year and had to budget for the price increase. Also setting up a new test cycle for each subsequent release could be made easier and a lot less repetitive. Also the user interface seemed a little archaic compared to other tools out there at the moment. It seemed to emulate a windows interface. More modern tools go with a web based interface which is a little more intuitive and easier to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It solves the problem of managing test activities across all projects. It allows you to import test cases and requirements and to set up test cycles and saves test runs for future reference.

During and after a test cycle you are able to view test status and other diagnostic charts to track test progress and estimate test cycle time to help with future test runs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a good basic tool but the value for money could be improved as there are better tools on the market with a lower price at the moment.

Good test case management tool

What do you like best about the product?
1. The new UI is nice and clean and looks modern
2. I like how I can organize all the test case in a functional way that works for me as in the previous UI
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Once I drill into a test case for a detailed view, the hierarchical test case column disappears and I have to go through clicking into different folders again to find the test case I was working on

2. In order to reach the Left to Right scroll bar and pagination, I have to scroll down all the way. Its not the end of the world but it can be tedious.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It organizes all test cases for different products in the company

I honestly hate it.

What do you like best about the product?
We started using Qmetry after Spira. Spira had many features available that Qmetry does not and I cannot say I don' t miss them. Qmetry requires that you go through each and every single test case and click pass one by one. It is EXTREMELY time consuming. When you have a test set of let's say 4 tests for one feature back to back, you can easily test them all right then and there. (ex. login with bad credentials/good credentials = pass/fail) so if you test all 2 or all 3 or all 4 tests in a row, having to go through and manually pass each one can be a hassle.
What do you dislike about the product?
Time consumption and lack of easy UI. We trained for months on qmetry to get it right. So many hiccups and so many issues. You cannot delete certain things. You cannot perfect your UI for your test plans. It is so annoying to use a product that makes it difficult to do things accurately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Honestly, nothing has necessarily gotten better since implenting Qmetry. I will say though that depending on who is in charge of the projects, we have organized our test plans better than ever before because qmetry takes up so much time, we had to reduce our test plans as much as possible to avoid repitition and constant pass/fail manual entering
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't. You will get frustrated. Unless it is your genuine hobby to constantly redo your work, just don't.

Great Software for Complex Test Matrixes

  • December 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ability to design complex test matrixes that support multiple test hardware and software environments. Strong reporting and ability to customize those reports. Good integration with automation tools.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its a heavy tool for smaller companies with more simplified testing needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need to trace testing back to the features requirements / user stories. The need to integrate testing with JIRA.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider whether you need a heavy duty test management solution or a simple low cost solution.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. Not able to Drag and drop the test cases
2. Not able to organize test case in to folders
3. NO Customization possible. Missing Priority Field.
4.

Qmetry personal review

  • September 26, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Organized view of holding test cases, as it does work like it should.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very slow and sluggish. The GUI freezes up and just frustrating at times when importing things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Lets QA build test suites and also add new test cases so we do not miss out on testing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely play with the software, and to see if the speed is up to par of what you would like. It is frustrating to use but it does its job.
