Reliable and Cost Effective
What do you like best about the product?
That I can count on SendGrid to get important emails sent to our customers and company representatives
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no complaints, love this service. The price is excellent and the platform easy to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use SendGrid to ensure delivery of reservations made on our websites, in the past we found that customers and stores we manage were not receiving notices 100% of the time. Since we started using SendGrid I can sleep better at night knowing we're not losing business
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're having issues with emails not getting sent through your website using traditional methods I would highly recommend giving SendGrid a try. Since using the API on our website deliverability has been 100% and we are no longer worried about losing business or email not getting sent.
Simple and Reliable Email Client
What do you like best about the product?
Great documentation for the API lends to a productive developer experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
After Sendgrid's acquisition by Twillio, there were many changes to the product (as expected), which unfortunately meant pricing tiers also shifted so features such as the audit history became limited unless you paid more. The API endpoint itself however is versioned so we don't have to worry about breaking changes to our product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Adding email functionality within a cloud-based application. The API offers options for simply sending data to be merged with rich HTML templates, or if you prefer to generate the HTML on your own, you can do that as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fully consider all the aspects that may affect your price (such as email volume and features) before going with Sendgrid. The price is worth it if you're taking advantage of all the features Sendgrid has, but if you just need a very simple email API for high volume sending there may be cheaper options with fewer frills.
Send Beautiful Emails without Coding Background
What do you like best about the product?
Sendgrid's interface is pretty intuitive. I have no background in creating emails or coding, but I can use the templates SendGrid offers with ease. Their templates are easily personalized.
What do you dislike about the product?
I had the hardest time setting SendGrid up with a 3rd party software. My company uses Monday.com. We wanted to send emails to clients at different stages of thier project based on "statuses". We had to hire a developer to build out the project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company used to sent out very basic text and email updates. They included no branding, and no links. With Sendgrid, I can send out beautifully crafted professional emails with links to our socials, requests for reviews and referrals. Our referrals and reviews have increased, and our clients note that they have been very happy with our communication.
Every month, it's the most value I get for the money spent on infrastructure services for my website
What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, transparency, reliability, service are all excellent. Excellent value for the money. If I could grow faster and pay more to Sendgrid for a higher tier, I would gladly do so.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feared they would lose focus on email when acquired by Twilio, but it hasn't seemed to be the case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Maintaining a good sender reputation with Sendgrid has been easy with their help.
best API to send and receive SMS, MMS, OTT messages globally
What do you like best about the product?
easy to use. good support. works perfectly on all OS. Online chat and community helps if you stuck anywhere.
What do you dislike about the product?
it will be good to have free version. it will be good to have deployment on mac available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
sending message for mobile app download. cheap and reliable product
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Yes, definitely should use as it is simple to use and great community out there to help you to figure out things.Companies of all sizes looking for a radically easy, all-in-one cloud contact center solution.
Horrible customer support and truly set us up for failure!
What do you like best about the product?
I honestly have nothing to say here. Go elsewhere with your money.
What do you dislike about the product?
We are going into a major launch that required us to set up a new, dedicated IP address, Sending Domain, DNS records, etc. I reached out to SendGrid to get help with this process. They offered me Support for a $5,000 fee. The rep on the phone didn't even realize we're already a customer (have been for 4 years) and spoke to us like we were a prospect.
When we decided not to go with their implementation package (and instead went with Iterable, which is our ESP) they said they could offer NO support. They wouldn't hop on a call to give me an overview, wouldn't even take the time to send over anything beyond two generic support pages.
We just launched our new IP, and it turns out SendGrid has been sending the emails from our other Sending Domain through this new IP. I have no idea this was going to happen – apparently you have to use subusers and IP Pools, but I get an error message every time I try to set up either – and they have now offered no support to help us fix this.
Support Tickets take hours or days to get a response on, unless you mark it as a "complete outage." We can't use the support phone number because apparently volume is "too high."
I have never been so livid or frustrated with a SaaS company in my life.

N/A
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Support matters. Customer Success matters. And SendGrid doesn't appear to value it at all. This is a technical platform, and unless you're willing or able to pay for Enterprise, don't expect much.
Not Reliable and NO Support
What do you like best about the product?
This company used to be very reliable but in the last several months that's changed. There are lots of delivery issues caused by their software and support tickets are not replied to in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reliability of the sendgrid service has gone way down in the last several months. Most recently they had an issue with their connector to Google that started randomly dropping hundreds of messages. They then flagged the e-mail addresses as invalid so they couldn't' be sent to again. There was no way to clear this through their UI so we were just stuck. It wouldn't be as much of a problem if they responded to support requests, but alas, they don't do that very well either...
They have outages with their systems almost weekly.
We pay a lot of money to send almost 1 Million message a month, and we'd be better off just sending through our own mail servers. The core business of an E-Mail delivery service is to deliver mail reliably, and they can't seem to be able to do that.
We'll be moving to a new service even though it's going to cost us a lot in development hours.

Guaranteed E-Mail Delivery
Sendgrid started as a livesaver, these days it sucks 80% of our time and causes a LOT of grey hair
What do you like best about the product?
It's a powerful platform that powers email infrastructure for our app notifications and other key functionality. In theory it could help us move more quickly by editing email templates instead of manually coding notifications.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maybe worst support I've ever experienced in a SaaS company. They changed the way they share data with us - by the way Sendgrid, it's OUR DATA! How can you tell clients using your system that we can't see opens/clicks for certain emails when that's exactly what we pay you for! We've literally reached out telling them we'd pay for support and nobody responds. Sendgrid must have hired their support team and structured their org around the DMV. We are miserable and the only reason we haven't left is bc we have to work through other key projects first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In app notifications & customer facing functionality
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Stay away! Don't build an app around them unless you want massive headaches down the line.
Run don't walk. Choose a different provider
What do you like best about the product?
It is free and the setup was easy. Purchased through the Azure marketplace.
What do you dislike about the product?
The service doesn't work. Customer service is completely non existent. We used this service for transactional emails. Sending of account confirmations and receipts from our website. With a reputation of 99%, our emails were continuously getting blocked with sending IP being blacklisted by Spamhaus and others. The shared IP pool we were in must have had numerous spam accounts. We were unable to get out of the shared pool. This has happened numerous times. After 4 days and a dozen tickets, I still can't get in touch with someone to purchase a dedicated IP to remedy the problem. Moving to another provider.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Transactional email provider for website.

Consider an alternative
Good API solution for sending bulk emails
What do you like best about the product?
Every feature on the SendGrid Platform is available via REST API. This makes you integrate the solution with your own system and make sense out of parameter from SendGrid such as Open, Clicks, etc
What do you dislike about the product?
SendGrid API's Website becomes down at times and customer care does not accept it. Have to send screenshots and then they divert to other solutions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to send Emails in bulk, Use Unsubscribe global & group feature so that the end-users have the flexibility not only to unsubscribe from all but also specific email groups.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sending emails in batches of 1000, tracking its open clicks via API use SendGrid
