Easy-to-Use Collaborative Workspace
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Confluence has an easy-to-learn format. Even if you have never used it before, the options at the top of the tool bar when editing a page are clear, and there’s a lot of documentation online. In addition, there are a fair amount of macros available for use in Confluence, which can make otherwise tedious tasks easy (ex. inserting a table of contents that automatically updates or excludes certain headings, etc.).
What do you dislike about the product?
I think sometimes it can be unexplainably buggy. Sometimes when multiple users are editing a page at once, it will become glitchy when one of the users tries to edit the font or tries to type in a new area. Additionally, permissioning certain pages/spaces can be a hassle at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has helped us to store documentation specific to our group at work. Confluence allows you to create “Spaces” for certain users, and different pages can be stored under a given space. It’s like having a mini-Wikipedia space. It also is a good space for knowledge-transfer - if you’re trying to store documentation specific to a project, it’s an easy space to allow access for everyone who needs it.
Best Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Centralized knowledge sharing tool. Well integrated with the atlassian products like Jira, Bitbucket. Macros are very helpful to enable custom solutions.
What do you dislike about the product?
Complex requirements are not easily possible with the available macros. Performance is not good when using large data or complex macros.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Document sharing, collaboration between team, centralized multi author documentation solution. Well integrated between all atlassian products.
Wikipedia of a Company
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence provides a single place online platform to accumulate and share information of the Company. It is a very quick way to document knowledge. Employees can gather all information about the company and the updates of the company by a single login. Even global information can be gathered sitting anywhere. Great features of formatting to make the page eye catchy is available. To make it secured login can be made only after connecting to VPN. Even URL's are available in the login page so switching is quite easy. Like comment option is available due to which it is a bit interseting.
What do you dislike about the product?
To search information is not that easy. Also for a first time user efforts are needed to understand the basics of the confluence. Further it is a bit costly. The app version is not very effective.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping the employees informed which is generally difficult for the company that are employee oriented. It is a central storehouse of all the information and need not be documented anywhere else as backups are there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Must compare the benefits reaping with the cost involved, beneficial for large employee base companies.
Dynamic wiki to store information securely
What do you like best about the product?
- integration with JIRA which helps users to specify issues and it connects to JIRA or any other page of confluence
- access rights can be given based on space or pages

What do you dislike about the product?
- adding huge tables to the pages is not very user friendly
-there is no option of bulk delete of pages and sub pages al together. it takes lot of time of delete a page with so multiple sub pages and if a page is deleted first, all the child pages shift to above parent page but there is no visible mechanism to identify how many child pages shift up

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- sharing documents globally with distributed teams

Excellent easy to use wiki with significant customization functionality
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use editor. WYSIWYG, but still have the ability to get deep under the covers with customization
What do you dislike about the product?
Security is lacking. Every time we do an update, SSL breaks... security functionality or at a minimum the ability to encrypt traffic should be table stakes for any web based app
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using this platform we have an easy to use mechanism to quickly create and share knowledge.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
A lot of the power of atlassian products come from their integrations. I’d look at how you want to integrate confluence, as one of the determining factors in your evaluation.
Great tool for product ownership documentation
What do you like best about the product?
The UI was easy to pick up on how to use and their templates for each document were very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
formatting a blank page is a real pain in the butt. Also, the navigation to pages can get really messy if people aren't careful where they create and move things.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a document management system for Product Ownership
Great documentation and collaboration platform!
What do you like best about the product?
Atlassian Confluence is an industry leading platform used for documentation and collaboration. It's a wiki that can be used to document procedures and policies used across an organization.
It is very straight forward to use, it has several integrations, and is widely used.
Previously we were running Confluence on premise, however we switched to Confluence Cloud as part of the large Atlassian offering of Cloud services such as JIRA, Bitbucket, etc. This has allowed us to simply use the product and not worry about maintaining it with updates, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes document formatting can be an issue.

We use it heavily for documentation and storing procedures.
Good platform for project documentation
What do you like best about the product?
The simple interface, possibility to embedd documents, link with Jira
What do you dislike about the product?
The limit on file size, the hierarchy of pages can be confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting projects with the possibility to collaborate with many colleagues.
Track project progress and provide a common workspace to all people involved in the project, allowing making extractions and baselines. tracking history of modifications.

I can get work done with my team faster
What do you like best about the product?
I think the Confluence system is easy to use. The software design is simple and intuitive for all types of people. When we want to bring lots of people in to collaborate on something, it's really important that everyone can use it easily. I think that the real-time nature of getting updates and being able to communicate helps us all to be on the same page every step of the way.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think there are certain aspects of designing our initial project page that can be hard to do. Getting projects off the ground isn't as straightforward as a typical chatting solution since we need to create a format that works well for given projects moving forward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
People that I work with are able to join in on discussions on their own time so that we can get projects moving forward at a pace that suits everyone's schedule. You don't have to schedule an appointment where we actually have to be there and respond to comments. We can take time to think about comments before saying anything.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is good to use if you want to create a more custom collaboration interface.
Easy to use collaboration software
What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about confluence is its dynamic ability to create multiple pages with ability to insert tables, create task on team members, apply filters on tabels etc. Ability to create documents and download in word is big plus point. Users can even create flow charts just like MS Visio. It is a complete package to manage team and also create documents thus reducing dependence on ms word and ms visio.
What do you dislike about the product?
One particular thing to point out is when a page has too much data conference starts hanging. Sometimes unble to save data. Also it doesn't offer a lot of formatting features as available in MS word. When we try to copy paste data from word to confluence we face issue with numbering. Numbering doesn't get copied correctly. There are some bugs like when we create a filtered page it shows data for only first 40 records. Overall if confluence to handle more data just like ms word on a page i will give it a 9.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before confluence we were unable to keep track of our pending tasks and we were making documents in ms word and flow chart in ms visio and then copy paste flow chart in ms word. Now we do all these centrally in confluence and we everyday review team tasks.
