Essential Tool for Collaboration and Documentation
What do you like best about the product?
It help to collaborate and document the notes , along with prepare the documentation for a new release or launching a new service / product..
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike lack of in built project management software for managing small projects and we have to rely on plug in every time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a team of project managers managing the product launches associated to a specific product portfolio.
We have defined project management templates in confluence for each project manager and we update it with necessary updates on weekly basis, along with that we flag risks and issues.
It also helps my manager and portfolio leader to have a holistic view of all the projects and the projects associated to a specific portfolio..

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate using Confluence for managing technical documents in projects, including steps for processes and design documents. I love that I can have documents integrated with Jira, and that it allows me to link documents with Jira, have tables, diagrams, and formatted text images. I enjoy managing documents as a library integrated with other systems like Slack, Jira, and Atlassian. The ability to see real-time Jira ticket status on Confluence pages, receive notifications, and speed up work significantly improves my productivity. The initial setup of Confluence was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that the search results in Confluence could be improved because sometimes it's difficult to find the right document. It tends to show the recently updated items first and this can lead to finding duplicates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Confluence for managing technical documents with easy integration to Slack and Jira, enhancing productivity with real-time updates and notifications while also providing a searchable library for different teams.

What I value most about Confluence is that it serves as the place where ideas and information ultimately come together. While it may not be the quickest tool for brainstorming, it excels at preserving thoughts and ensuring that nothing gets lost. Once decisions are made, it helps keep everyone on the same page and aligned.

I find it frustrating that Confluence tends to prioritize completeness rather than clarity. While it serves very well as a system of record, it can hinder progress and obscure key insights if it isn't managed thoughtfully.

Confluence helps me by making my work more lasting. It transforms ideas into institutional knowledge, making sure that clarity endures long after it was first established.

At Horizons, I have found that it addresses significant challenges related to documentation, cross-team alignment, version control, and global collaboration. The seamless integration with Jira is particularly helpful, as it allows project tracking and documentation to flow together naturally.

Its performance may lag when handling large or content-heavy projects. Additionally, managing permissions can become complicated in organizations with many spaces.

Sometimes it is slow and takes time to load pages. Page formatting changes sometimes automatically.

What do you like best about the product?
I love Confluence's outstanding stability and reliability, with almost zero downtime which means it doesn't impact my work if I urgently need to access a document. I also find the inbuilt search to be quite good. The initial setup of Confluence was very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI looks a bit older now. Modern colors and theme could help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Confluence for documentation, high-level diagrams, solution docs, and meeting notes. It offers stability with almost zero downtime, ensuring I can access documents urgently. The search functionality is good enough.

The navigation feels cluttered, making it difficult to find what I need quickly. There's a steep learning curve, and I often experience notification fatigue. The formatting options are quite rigid, and page loading tends to be slow. I also encounter issues with search and discovery, and managing permissions can be complex. The platform relies too heavily on plugins, which leads to fragmented workspaces. Additionally, editing tables is limited and not as flexible as I would like.

This tool helps eliminate information silos and break down communication barriers, which in turn prevents version control chaos. By centralizing fragmented documentation, it reduces the need for excessive meetings and ensures that institutional memory is captured. Great collaboration tool. It's very reliable and has a lot of diverse features to bring peak productivity among the team.l

It can get complex for new people at times but the more you learn, it gets fairly intuitive.

It's easy to link documents/references to our tech stack in JIRA tickets which makes context sharing very easy and secure as well.
