A necessary utility with a good scope of improvement
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility Confluence provides to add content in different ways and the ability to share it seamlessly with your peers make it an amazing documenting tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search on confluence is a bit buggy and irrelevant results often come up to the top while looking for a document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting product information, business logic explanation, production releases records, office events tabulation etc. Are a few uses where Confluence comes to help.
Other features include the ability to share your work by tagging your employees, provide protection to edit the documents, create separate spaces for your team only to view the content etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can consider using Confluence for your documentation, tabulation, data presenting needs. It can even be used as a wiki for topics.
Great for collaborating and sharing information across groups of people and the world
What do you like best about the product?
The markup language is awesome as well as the ability to revert/change any edit history. I like the fact that you can also see who is editing the page or if multiple people are on it. Having my own "space" is great as well, keeps a lot of documentation or notes in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can become a little cumbersome to navigate if there are a lot of spaces or pages. One slight issue I have is when pages could be deprecated or "retired" if not constantly updated. Sometimes I just want to archive some data for use that doesn't always need updated. If not maintained these could be lost to the ether.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The ability to store documentation across the globe with people who all want to work consistently. Its similar to the google docs formats, but the presentation and formatting are better, in my opinion
Very flexible and agile documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has some very nicely build-in features that gives you good looking and well-structured documents. It's a lot like an intranet content management system from my point of view. You have customizable layouts, custom templates to make them fit to your needs (easily) and of course, it's all tied to jira and the other products of atlassian.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, the editing-performance gets very low when having a video-call like hangout... and this is on a 2020, 16gb MacBook Pro.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a dedicated space for our whole company where we store all kinds of documentations and company info like our Vision, our communication guide. We also have a dedicated space for each team where we store all processes the team is responsible for. We use custom templates to document standardized processes like customer implementations, sales MAPs and account reviews.
Simple, effective knowledge base
What do you like best about the product?
It's fast, intuitive, easy to set up and share. We use it primarily as a knowledge base and it functions really well in that regard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigating expansive confluence sites can be a bit cumbersome.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Primarily as a knowledge base. From tutorials, to IT documentation to procedure updates - we catalog it in Confluence.

Diagnosing and fixing permission issues needs an upgrade

Confluence is a great collaboration & KMS tool
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has replaced wiki and sharepoint for most of our work needs. I personally love the Gliffy plugin which lets you create awesome diagrams in the confluence page itself. Especially you get public cloud icons as well, which are great for creating architectural diagrams.
They also provide confi-forms plugin which we used in the past to use confluence pages as questionnaire. It worked out great.

What do you dislike about the product?
Although we use Confluence for hosting our requirements and even design documents but it essentially is not a inventory system.
You do have the possibility to create tables but confluence tables aren't that great and you do not get native option of doing filtering and using it to store our Configuration Items (CIs). For example, list of public cloud accounts with other metadata details.
We still have to use excel for that specific need.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Comala workflows to control versioning for our service team facing documentation created in Confluence. This way before very release, we do get the documents reviewed within the team and have them published.
For our JIRA dashboard as well, you do get a filter to pull data on a confluence page and have it shown to executives and non IT folks. They usually do not login to JIRA application.
Having data in form of dashboards in confluence works great!

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are already invested in Atlassian suite, Confluence is a great collaboration product to have. You can use it host your documentation, do polling, surveys - possibilities are endless.
Confluence needs to improve ...
What do you like best about the product?
The thing that I like from confluence is that you can have an organized space, it has some tweaks here and there that can be use to document most processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence is not very dynamic as you would expect, the add ons that you can add to your wiki are not good, they are not innovating enough to make confluence work. It is kind of difficult to add graphs or other kind of content like small video previews or video tutorials. Confluence makes documentation not very appealing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation mainly, if you need a place where to store all the documentation from a new project you are in or just want to make a step by step tutorial on how to use your tool, this tool might help you to do so, it is not very intuitive, and it is lacking of many cool stuff that other tools offer.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is very sturdy and not so simple to use, there are other tools that can make a better job or can be more visual, we know documenting its super boring, and to have a tool that it is not very simple to use or does not have amazing resources for you to simplify your documentation job, it is really a waste of time, I really do not recommend confluence, I think it is lacking from some core features that can make documentation better, simpler and enjoyable for sure.
