Great Knowledge Base for Teams growing at scale

  • June 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Not a huge learning curve, and the ability to make content look clean and organized is a plus
What do you dislike about the product?
Uploaded files tend to look less organic to the surround content
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A centralized knowledge base with the right permissions for an organization growing at scale. Permissions allow only those who need access to certain spaces to access them, edit them, etc.

Complex for new comers, but very useful tool

  • June 04, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It allows to store information about the company and processes in a clear and consistent fashion, at the same time allowing version controlling and reviews to be done by specific people. Is a good knowledge management tool and helps to tie in a lot of different aspects in one place for the distributed teams across different countries. Very recommended if you have large teams that share the same knowledge space
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a but old looking as Wikipedia and can be a pain to find your way around.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major question solved is knowledge management and knowledge sharing. It also helps to structure and organize the knowledge we have around the offices into one place that is moldable and can be updated on a regular basis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very good tool in connection with other atlassian products, especially when it comes to distributed teams and collaboration. It fits well with the every day processes and helps storing the information about general things in one single place

Very Easy To Use Tool

  • June 02, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a very easy to use business tool to help teams share knowledge. The platform is intuitive and minimal training is needed to figure out how to use it. The cloud storage style platform is modern while keeping the basic concepts of digital file storage. The email notifications that recommend articles in Confluence that may match what I need to know are very useful and helpful. Personally this is one my favorite features.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Confluence could integrate better into other platforms instead of being a standalone platform that needs to be logged into. Although I personally find Confluence to be a great way to organize information, there are situations where files that have been uploaded can easily get unorganized. If employees/contributors are not uploading and saving in the same format then things can quickly become messy and require a team to go in and reorganize everything. As a whole, a team is needed to keep an organization's Confluence clean, updated and to keep the information that is uploaded and housed in there easy to search for and access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working for a cloud based software company we constantly have information that we need to share organizationally and across teams. Confluence provides an easy avenue for us to share this information. Confluence has helped the company I work for become more efficient and knowledgeable while keeping everyone engaged all around.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before allowing employees to start contributing/adding in articles, be sure to have an outline of the structure that you are looking for to ensure that the space is as organized as possible to prevent additional work down the line in the future.

Confluence: a powerful ally in developing marketing strategies for activities

  • June 01, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In reality, confluence can cover an endless number of situations that deserve organization for a project in general. Confluence makes working with many projects without increasing the degree of difficulty of them at any time, even when they are large projects. Confluence has the advantage of having different templates to create meetings (and if necessary, different notes about them), so that we take the least amount of time possible scheduling them.
What do you dislike about the product?
The confluence search function is not that good. We have noticed that it takes a long time to locate information such as the comments that certain people make within the page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This opinion will be rooted in the importance of confluence as a creator of plans, since it is the best way to organize a group so that they keep in touch about the launch of activities and processes during the development of each project. Confluence has also helped us, based on your printing system, to create a line in retrospect, to call it something, about everything that happened at work during a certain period of time, or simply about a specific project , since it can be customized to our liking.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence seems useful to us to speed up issues such as decision making during work operations, and more if it is a large group. Confluence is recommended to work both with marketing plans, and to facilitate the insertion of tickets that have been created in similar softwares (created by atlassian) as in the case of Jira.

Pretty great tool to use if you have the time to learn it

  • May 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's easy to set-up and add content. It's also easy to integrate with other softwares, making it easier to add documents from Google Drive or charts from LucidChart for example. It's an amazing way for knowledge to be shared across regions and teams - also to make sure that knowledge is not lost whether it's from people leaving or from teams being too large. It's also a great way to have people be proactive in staying on top of new information i.e. on new product updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot of time to learn how the tool truly works. It is also time consuming and hard to maintain the pages in terms of making sure everyone updates or creates them accordingly. There are also often some bugs that don't seem to go away even if you delete and add it again. It should be more user friendly to make it more appealing to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving the problem of knowledge being all over the place across various teams. Now we can easily send people to the write page to find the information instead of having to repeat ourselves, or losing the knowledge when employees leave.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have the time to learn the tool!

Great Internal Wiki and Knowledge-base

  • May 28, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that Confluence has a clean UI, it integrates, more or less, seamlessly with Jira Service Desk, and that it's simple to add both internal documentation, but also KB's to feed into Jira Service Desk. We went from having on-prem or cloud based file storage for multiple documents all over the place to having tightly linked documentation in Atlassian allowing for integration, revisioning, and the ability to access or change it on the fly in the Cloud.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some items (e.g. Word, Excel or other documents) don't integrate well. I still haven't found a good way to get Visio to pull into Confluence without leaving it as just a file or a link to a file. I'm hoping that they expand what can be imported natively and make more things editable. I'd also like to see the backend user setup cleaned up and simplified a little more. It can be kind of a pain to grant permissions and some of the roles aren't as granular as one would hope for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We now have a centralized documentation repository that's accessible via the web/cloud anywhere around the world. It's allows us to integrate our support ticketing system (Jira Service Desk) with Confluence to enable KB's and tagging articles for user to search. This has allowed us to share documentation easier and full-fill self-service.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are already using or looking at using Atlassian, or you want a new ecosystem to house both a wiki, project management, and service desk solution, then you can't go wrong with Confluence along with Jira and Jira Service Desk.

If you are just looking for a wiki or documentation/KB repository, it's still one of the best I've worked with.

Confluence made life easy

  • May 21, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The functionality of Confluence alongside its integrations that it has available to it. My team uses it with Obie and we are able to quickly pull pages created which allow us to do our work faster and more efficiently. The scitpting features of it also allow me to automate much of what we have to be updated constantly without need for consistent administration. Whatever is added in is verified and used frequently.

Confluence allow allows for us to divide our larger organization into proper spaces allowing us to expand and grow each project inside the organization properly without stepping over the other. The cross integration of the application assists immensely with this.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you are not familiar with HTML webpage design it can be a bit confusing and will take time to learn and familiarize yourself with. There is also funtionality with CLI that can be a bit confusing if you are not familiar with scripting as well. Both of these are seen as downsides because of a delay in time for going live. Both of these can be mitigated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team was severely lacking any knowledge management and any guidance for procedures as well as information specific to a specific project. Confluence allowed us to put our entire organization into neatly organized spaces.

This also allowed for us to be able to separate our knowledge into complete and split apart spaces per location instead of all inside one very large space. The user rights administration was also very user friendly
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are in need of a proper workspace for your team with excellent integrations with other applications (Obie not being the only one) then Confluence is simply the best choice possible. You will find the solutions you need and are looking for here.

Support is always available and are incredibly quick to help and a pleasure to work with. Also the CLI script add on's provide an extra level that you would not think an application like this would have.

Easily create contents with great JIRA sinergy

  • May 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In every single page, you can add your own comments and give feedback to the content creator so he/she can improve it and plan changes.
The ability to fast reference JIRA tickets while commenting is also really nice as it helps to keep focus of the real issues.
Another interesting aspect is that you can extend its functionalities by adding apps/modules, which are really useful when using multiple services.
What do you dislike about the product?
You really need to take a tour in order to grasp its full potential.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating a "home" for the company documentation while improving cross-team work and efficiency.
Being able to check the revision history helps a lot when you work in a collaborative environment where different teams share ideas.
You can also customize your home/views so it's easy to keep track on important things and be on time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think about all the applications you use in your daily routine and check if there is an app for Confluence, it can save you time.
Lear how to use the "slash command" and all keyboard shortcuts while typing as it speeds up your contents.

Integration and installation is easy, but maintenance can be difficult

  • May 19, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Works as an internal social media board for the workplace, where all can contribute equally and can be used for controlling internal documents. We primarily use it within the organization as a note-taking space when in meetings and for managing large scale projects that are being coordinated amongst multiple teams, like Operations, Engineering, and Product. We use multiple confluence boards for the creation of process and best-practice documents, that others within the organization can refer to/use. That is a big life-saver in a large organization like ours, where each project has multiple stakeholders. I personally like the feature where members can type simultaneously and the document is saved automatically, the most convenient feature of all.
What do you dislike about the product?
Maintenance can be a hassle sometimes due to the fact that there are not many options for organizing the content.
Also, there's no template as to how to set this up and you have to look at forums for ideas, or just making assumptions on how you think it should work. A knowledgebase is helpful but given the complexity of using this software, I think it would have been better if proactive help or tips were present at different stages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it primarily for documenting organizational processes and creating best-practice documents to enable faster and more efficient knowledge transfer within the company. The engineering team also uses this for new Products and feature development to keep a track of all Epics at a central repository.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it without hesitation

Confluence - Best for saving and uploading documents !

  • May 17, 2020
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like confluence the most as it had very good templates that are easy to customise which makes work easier. Easy file sharing with more tools that make work become more interactive. It saves lot of time, by helping in keeping documents well organised and can keep track of projects in place even can easily integrate with Jira and other tools. It is advanced and reliable project management software for every business, can easily gain lot of knowledge about any particular document and topic.
What do you dislike about the product?
Takes too long time to install and configure. Also takes longer to update or save any changes on any documents on confluence
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The best platform to save or upload all your project documents on confluence. It helps to share the agendas and workflows with team members due to which the plan and the communication goes better to the team. Feedback feature fascinates me, as it helps in taking more proactive decisions. It also increases the productivity of the team. Even if there is any sensitive document which you want to upload on confluence, you can always limit to the people which you want them to have access to documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence makes things easier for the companies for people who work abroad. I would strongly recommend this document repository, which helps a lot in saving your imp documents at one place which is accessible to all.
