Confluence is great for writing requirements specifications
What do you like best about the product?
As a business analyst I am responsible for writing requirements specifications for individual website components. Confluence has been an amazing tool for me for these reasons:
- cloud based; allows external users to review and contribute to the pages
- easy UI allows for very organized spaces
- content entry functionality is extensive and easy to use
- integration with Jira allows for seamless work between myself and the development team
- Exportability of specs
- global search functionality

What do you dislike about the product?
Creating and editing tables can be a real headache. The ideal state would be for it to be as close as possible to excel or word in this area. It's difficult to copy entire rows or columns even though there are specific buttons meant to do these things. It would be easiest if there was more right-click functionality in the tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence allows our teams to collaborate in real-time on documents and specifications. We love the fact that multiple users can be working on a document at the same time. Our clients love the inline commenting functionality and how easy it is to learn how to use the tool. Page templating saves me time in creating new pages each time.
Very Well Done
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence does a great job bringing all of the information you need together. I view it as a much more polished version of google drive. Instead of being just a data dumpster, Confluence gives you the tools to organize your files and share with your team as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only main dislike is the pricing and the very small learning curve.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data dump. We have so many files and different file managers that nothing is organized. Confluence has helped to bring all of our data and teams together in once centralized location.

Confluence as Knowledge Repository and version controlled Documentation

Wiki Page layout gives familiar feel to the interface.
Version Controlled Documentation gives the ability to revert changes when not need.
Decision Tree option gives entire scope change feasibility .
Very smooth Integration with JIRA makes it a perfect match for Request Tracking and Linking.
Linking of various documents under one request/page

What do you dislike about the product?
Difficult Navigation
Scope for duplication of links and or documents.
Navigation often gets slowed down or freezes in some browsers.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previously our Documents were in Shared folders and Version Controlling was not an easy option.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a Web Based Knowledge Repository and/or Document Control system. The learning curve is simple and the options to integrate with JIRA makes it better. There is a lot of Admin activity for the setup and customization that needs to be done for Confluence to cater to your exact Organization or project needs. Spend sufficient amount of time in doing that.
Great for tracking projects, but you have to put in the time
What do you like best about the product?
I like that Confluence lets us sort our project charters and manage them in a central location. It can link in your google sheet data and populate it directly which is great for projects with a lot of attached spreadsheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you're not very experienced with Confluence, it can function basically like Google Drive. To get the actual value you're paying for you need to have everyone on the team trained and familiar with all of the little details that make Confluence more useful. I sometimes feel like I'm using it as a glorified series of Google Docs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to manage all of our project charters across a number of teams at my organization. It has been very useful in keeping everything in one place that is specific to projects.
Very good tool for docs
What do you like best about the product?
Inserting images and making customizable docs really helped me work it out.
What do you dislike about the product?
It needs to be more user friendly. Sometimes it’s difficult to access docs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used confluence for all my design reviews and presentations
Confluence - Content sharing made easier
What do you like best about the product?
I like three basic things about the confluence:
Firstly, the ease of creating documents, secondly, ability to attach files and finally, the notification email for those who are interested in a page. It's helpful that we get emails when there is any change in a page in which we are interested.

What do you dislike about the product?
The search algorithm, it could be better. The search results are sometimes difficult to comprehend, and throws irrelevant results at times. If we know the contributor or the space in which we should be looking into, the search becomes easier. However, when we do not have proper knowledge of that, when we use this as wiki or single source of truth, it throws a lot of results where we have to go to each of the pages and check if that's the right page or if that page has what we are searching for. The process to make a branch and sub-branch - it's confusing at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use confluence for all kind of project documentation, so everyone in the team can add his/her contribution in the same page so this does not create any confusion or duplication of work. Also it is used for document sharing across teams and colleagues, as a one stop solution for storage of all knowledge bases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Our organisation has been using confluence as a one stop solution for documentation repository and storage, it's easy to create, edit and maintain as per team and project requirements.
Confluence for shared documents and information
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to share information amongst colleagues from a central, online location. This eliminated the need for group emails with multiple attached files and saving documents via USB. It was also convenient in that anyone with permissions to view particular pages in Confluence could view and edit, and it would track changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the formatting options with Confluence are limited. I don't view this as significant, however, in that fewer options can provide users with a more streamlined, easy to use tool. With that said, I don't mind that Confluence offers fewer formatting options and what is available has been sufficient enough to date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence was our organization's primary means of sharing information with everyone in our research center, particularly meeting minutes, informative materials, project road-maps, and ideas.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for an easy way to share important documents that remain in a central, online location with members of your organisation, then Confluence would provide a great solution.
Easy Tool For ProjectTeam Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is an easy tool for team collaboration. Worked well: The real time editing/update of pages was high requirement from organization which was very nicely fulfilled. Worked not easily: Project planning with e.g: Gantt Chart or some other charting Tools are not fully integrated It is full of functionalities(e.g: Macros) but all are scattered and hard to find. Security based on pages/view are nicely handled. Easy integration with authentication Services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to find components during creation of pages/documents
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hassle free visualization of documentations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are more space available to make processes as simple as possible e.g: finding tools
Confluence helps me and my organization stay on track, hold ourselves accountable and have easy acce
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to search for confluence with keywords. It's essentially like a workplace google.
What do you dislike about the product?
When editing confluence pages it is sometimes difficult to undo a task that you accidentally did prior to saving your new version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has made it efficient to upload training docs for the entire organization to view or just one or two departments. It helped me and my team reorganize our structure.
