Great for tracking projects, but you have to put in the time

  • November 12, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Confluence lets us sort our project charters and manage them in a central location. It can link in your google sheet data and populate it directly which is great for projects with a lot of attached spreadsheets.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you're not very experienced with Confluence, it can function basically like Google Drive. To get the actual value you're paying for you need to have everyone on the team trained and familiar with all of the little details that make Confluence more useful. I sometimes feel like I'm using it as a glorified series of Google Docs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to manage all of our project charters across a number of teams at my organization. It has been very useful in keeping everything in one place that is specific to projects.

What do you dislike about the product?

I have used confluence for all my design reviews and presentations

Confluence - Content sharing made easier

  • November 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like three basic things about the confluence:
Firstly, the ease of creating documents, secondly, ability to attach files and finally, the notification email for those who are interested in a page. It's helpful that we get emails when there is any change in a page in which we are interested.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search algorithm, it could be better. The search results are sometimes difficult to comprehend, and throws irrelevant results at times. If we know the contributor or the space in which we should be looking into, the search becomes easier. However, when we do not have proper knowledge of that, when we use this as wiki or single source of truth, it throws a lot of results where we have to go to each of the pages and check if that's the right page or if that page has what we are searching for. The process to make a branch and sub-branch - it's confusing at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use confluence for all kind of project documentation, so everyone in the team can add his/her contribution in the same page so this does not create any confusion or duplication of work. Also it is used for document sharing across teams and colleagues, as a one stop solution for storage of all knowledge bases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Our organisation has been using confluence as a one stop solution for documentation repository and storage, it's easy to create, edit and maintain as per team and project requirements.

Confluence for shared documents and information

  • November 09, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to share information amongst colleagues from a central, online location. This eliminated the need for group emails with multiple attached files and saving documents via USB. It was also convenient in that anyone with permissions to view particular pages in Confluence could view and edit, and it would track changes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the formatting options with Confluence are limited. I don't view this as significant, however, in that fewer options can provide users with a more streamlined, easy to use tool. With that said, I don't mind that Confluence offers fewer formatting options and what is available has been sufficient enough to date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence was our organization's primary means of sharing information with everyone in our research center, particularly meeting minutes, informative materials, project road-maps, and ideas.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for an easy way to share important documents that remain in a central, online location with members of your organisation, then Confluence would provide a great solution.

Easy Tool For ProjectTeam Collaboration

  • November 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is an easy tool for team collaboration. Worked well: The real time editing/update of pages was high requirement from organization which was very nicely fulfilled. Worked not easily: Project planning with e.g: Gantt Chart or some other charting Tools are not fully integrated It is full of functionalities(e.g: Macros) but all are scattered and hard to find. Security based on pages/view are nicely handled. Easy integration with authentication Services.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hard to find components during creation of pages/documents
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hassle free visualization of documentations
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are more space available to make processes as simple as possible e.g: finding tools

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to search for confluence with keywords. It's essentially like a workplace google.
What do you dislike about the product?
When editing confluence pages it is sometimes difficult to undo a task that you accidentally did prior to saving your new version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has made it efficient to upload training docs for the entire organization to view or just one or two departments. It helped me and my team reorganize our structure.

Confluence for Article and Process Curation

  • November 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that everyone in our department uses Confluence. It allows for national collaboration on official documentation, articles, and processes.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the way to update pages. I also think the truncated list on the left hand side for sub-pages is a lot of information. There are shortcut buttons on our confluence home page. But the left side panel feels more like an email inbox or mac finder than an article management system.
I dislike the amount of notification received, even though all my notification are turned off. I somehow still end up getting notifications to my email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving inconstancies in official information across a national company. Confluence has allow us to have a repository for official information that can be curated by anyone on our national team.

Best Document management system

  • November 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to integrate with Jira and restrict the upload file sizes makes it most appealing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way we write anything needs improvement. Its more basic and needs more of a MS Word type capability.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have realized tons of benefits in storing and managing business documents. Previously it was not organized but now it is. Also we can link Jira items as well in documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it only if you are willing to use other Atlassian products then it makes life much easy.

What do you dislike about the product?

Best Online documentation software

  • November 08, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence helps us store the documentation in a proper hierarchy. Multiple macros provided by Confluence is just amazing. I have issued JIRA issue/filter and code macro the most of all. What I love most about confluence is the Code Macro. It really makes our document neat and clean. We can add Info section, Warning section, Multiple formatting are also supported.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence maintains version history and it allows us replace the content any time we needed from older history.
I don't know if there is feature to compare multiple revisions, It would be better if its provided.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is where we maintain documentation, since its accessible via browser, this doesn't create overhead for user to download any software to view others documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is best suited for Documentation rather than any version control system
