Keep documentation synchronized with Jira
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best tools to get your software documentation synchronized with Jira
What do you dislike about the product?
It lacks some of the instrument that another text editor offers
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping organized software documentation
Good document management software but has room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
I like the way this software gets linked with other Atlassian products like Jira. The realtime notification for changes with clear diff also is a very helpful feature. Document history is also very useful feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Adding code and highlighting to the documents is not easy. I'd love to have a seamless markdown support.
I do not find the search very easy at it looks like it doesn't search through the content very well.
I do not find the search very easy at it looks like it doesn't search through the content very well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use confluence for documentation for everything. Be it technical architecture or product description or a POC. Our marketing team also uses confluence for documenting everything.
Fast, easy collaborative environment
What do you like best about the product?
The speed in which Confluence operates. I can create documents quickly, add links to other pages by pressing [ctrl]+[k] (and be filtered for existing pages on the site). Add macros with the press of the forward slash, and much more.
What do you dislike about the product?
Migration from on-prem to cloud isn't 100% guaranteed. We've found that images don't get pulled over entirely for our various pages. We only found this out a few weeks after our migration, so we can't go back to the old instance and re-migrate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a place where we could share our documentation with our new team-members, which were located in a variety of geographic locations throughout the world.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware of what the add-ons cost. On-prem server install usually means cheaper add-on costs. Once you move to cloud, these prices can increase quite a bit.
Useful
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to keep a list of action items online during a meeting and who is supposed to do what is helpful for future reference
What do you dislike about the product?
The price keeps increasing every time we add people. When we signed up it was only $10 per month!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of task, sharing files, and quarterly goals online
Recommendations to others considering the product:
adding a chat option so we can talk to a live person would be very helpful
I would Recommend Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
I like Confluence because its a great please for our team to collaborate. We also use it to share knowledge and as a knowledge-base. I like that I can create, share and discuss all of our files, projects & ideas
What do you dislike about the product?
when creating a space sometimes it take a little bit of time to build it all out
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
knowledge-base, knowledge sharing, project tracking , file sharing
Recommendations to others considering the product:
use it in tandem with JIRA
Excellent tool to keep track of information
What do you like best about the product?
I like how confluence is organized. It allows for excellent organization across all teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Links don't allow you to open into another tab without right clickingg.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being more transparent across our company. Allowing for better organization.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for large teams that want to share knowledge with ease
digital dumping ground for all internal knowledge
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence contains really valuable information about your internal organization. Every team can add as much information as they like. We use it to store documentation, how to's, internal policies, meeting notes and more!
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation is a nightmare. Because every team uses it to store any content that is important to them, navigating by clicking from article to article is almost impossible due to lack of standardization. Searching works well though so we encourage our users to search rather than browse.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence for storing all internal policies and procedures as well as knowlege-base articles, meeting notes etc. It's a "one stop shop" for all internal documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Always search keywords to find the info you're after
Not bad, but not great
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is great for gathering business requirements during software projects. It's awesome that it connects with JIRA, and is somewhat intuitive once you use it enough.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be pretty confusing to set up pages with properties and other macros. It takes some real training to be able to use the more powerful features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some problems - when you go into edit mode on a page, many times it will just sit there spinning/loading. You have to refresh the page for it to actually go into edit mode.
Benefits - good way to gather requirements and share documents with external clients.
Benefits - good way to gather requirements and share documents with external clients.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider also adding JIRA if you decide to use Confluence. The real value is being able to use Confluence for requirements gathering, and tying it to JIRA (workflow management).
Good for reporting and document management
What do you like best about the product?
Good tool for writing collaborative reports and storing everything central
What do you dislike about the product?
Search menu. Very hard to track documents and find them when you need them. Tangs and keywords help but still ...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Linking tasks and reports and meeting notes all together
Pretty organized work flow
What do you like best about the product?
I was able to incorporate all my tasks and projects in the same space and share it with the members of my team. There was also a pipeline for individual timelines

I don't think there's anything I disliked about Confluence. It had everything I needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was able to incorporate all my tasks and projects in the same space and share it with the members of my team. There was also an option for individual timelines
