Good document management software
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the organizational structure and ease of use. I can have a web page designed in only a few minutes. It's really easy to move articles if they need to be recategorized. It's also really easy to collaborate on content
What do you dislike about the product?
The permissions scheme is really hard to configure because they are split across web pages. It would be nice to be able to see someone's permissions for all pages in one screen. I would like to be able to format pages easier. The widgets only take me so far and their functionality is limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a better way to manage documents and knowledge across multiple teams. Confluence was a perfect fit for us. We can turn documents into web pages easily or post them as is and provide an easy to search structure for finding documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Using Confluence with Jira help desk filled our company need to implement a small help desk. We found that Confluence can provide a good document management system that is easy to use and easy to implement. We are currently exploring other features such as the project tracking. Getting the permissions set up to work how we need them too takes a little time because the permissions are spread across multiple tiers in the Atlassian structure (product, site, and page).
Confluence simplifies team collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a tool that facilitates teamwork. The templates are great to simplify the creation of documents, also provides search filters to find them easily.
It is useful for managing tasks and organizing teams. Real-time alerts allow us to connect with other team members. It also adapts to third-party tools like Google Drive and Slack. It is simple and without complications, it is a software that I recommend to increase productivity.

What do you dislike about the product?
We have achieved excellent results in project management. No complaints about Confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Increases synergy in the team and streamlines project management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is simple and uncomplicated, is a software that I recommend to increase productivity.
Confluence has helped our teams reduce email by at least 25% and reduce our meetings too.
What do you like best about the product?
It has so many different features from templates, question and answer sections, the ability to upload all kinds of files, change statuses, tag your colleagues, make in line and page comments, link to JIRA, and more. It just works with all our our other software that we use so it's seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I had the ability to move sections around on a page by drag and drop, much like i do in JIRA. Additionally, it would be great if I could remove attachments from a page that I didn't upload myself. Also, I hate that the meeting notes are not inline w/ the page and they have to be added as a link w/in requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have an internal downtime that is in the middle of our day; so that's tough to work around. Also, some of our team members have add'l credentials to programs like Stash, while others don't, so links don't always go somewhere useful.
Benefits are that it's extremely easy to find pages, update them, and link to JIRA.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're already using JIRA, Confluence is a no brainer! It's an amazing tool that allows the team to record decisions, lay out requirements, take meeting notes, organize flow charts and so much more. Asides from the login portion of the site, it also allows for Public Space to communicate notes to those outside of Product/Dev to replace SharePoint.
Platform to collect and share knowledge
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is very flexible, you can create lots of different folder structures, use a search function to search what you are looking for, save pages to favorites, and watch pages so that you get email notifications whenever something gets changed
What do you dislike about the product?
Due to it's great flexibility, Confluence can get very confusing and if you don't have good processes in place it might end up being a complete mess in which you don't find anything at all
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence for knowledge sharing within the business. It's been used for product updates, training material, internal information, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you get processes and folder structures in place before the company actually starts using it
Difficult to navigate
What do you like best about the product?
It's nice to have a hub where all of your company information can live and is accessible.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the tool hard to navigate, and often find myself just clicking around endlessly trying to find something to no avail.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has encouraged us to document and organize our policies and procedures and make them readily available to our employees.
Useful tool for document management
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy of creating macros to link all data that appears in multiple places has been a life changer for me. Document management and creation, including making quick surveys that are visible using LDAP are also immensely beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
It isn't very pleasant to look at and can look a little all over the place sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to solve the problem of having multiple documents and not one common searchable place for the rest of the team. It is beneficial as it is supremely easy to handle.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It will always be beneficial to take up a course on "how to confluence" before using it as confluence has too many functions which can be difficult to understand and follow.
Good for heavy-doc-based workgroups
What do you like best about the product?
Great plugins, great edition capabilities.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once locked in there, you are stuck to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation of cross project and group interactions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get as many plugins as possible
Project requirements and team activities
What do you like best about the product?
Wiki pages
Requirements gathering
Document sharing portal

What do you dislike about the product?
Concurrent access leads to data loss. But users can co ordinate and collate changes
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Manage requirements for large implementations
Ease of sharing and collaborating with team
Ease of sharing and collaborating with team
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great to get version history and previous comments
Confluence as the documentation portal
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence links up really well with all other Atlassian products. Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket are what we use with each other and they all link up to provide us with the perfect data set for all our products.
What do you dislike about the product?
We have found confluence to be really difficult to be used as an external documentation portal. Internally confluence works really well, but to provide documentation to our customers and clients, we need another solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We link all our code, tickets, and tasks with all our documentation on Confluence. This has led to easier integrations within the team and also externally with other teams in the company to whom we can simply forward one of the links and they have all the data for the tasks to the code till all our documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We use the on premise version, but I would suggest checking out the on cloud version.
Good business collaboration tool
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is easier to use than most collaboration programs, from the first moment it is easier than Microsoft Sharepoint, just as expensive but at a more affordable price. It is a web-based software, serious and with few updates but remains a good alternative for small businesses that want to bear the costs and risks of managing a lot of data in the cloud. In my company we have decided to leave Confluence only in some departments because it has a medium learning curve that would make other departments not used to trying new software or tools that require tutorials.
Confluence is easy to use for employees who have knowledge in continuous management of collaborative software or you will have to make them read the Confluence tutorial very well so they can manage the platform optimally, it is full of many options and sometimes can be confused. On the other hand we have the advantage of easily configuring the pages that we will make for an intuitive and pleasant user interface that from the beginning invites you to work without much guidance.
The structure of Confluence is organized and almost all the configuration parts are opened in separate tabs of the browser to avoid confusion and loss of work when you are creating a task. Document tracking is great, setting aside a space for each work team, department or project. The same goes for files that can be assigned categories of importance to discard files that will only be used as a reference. The administration system allows you to limit access to certain users and this is very useful when you work with large teams in which each person has jobs that are not compatible or we want to keep private.
The formats when editing tasks is not a problem because Confluence gives us templates adapted to each type of document we want to edit as meeting notes, project plans or product pages. Confluence's approach is well directed and complies with facilitating document management and emphasizing interaction since we are presented with the option to make comments or give "like" to the notes we like from our team.

What do you dislike about the product?
What Confluence should fix is the loading time of a new page when we get ready to create a new job, it takes a long time to load, and even if it's a few seconds, that counts as lost. In the text editor when you go to select the bar to start typing is not selected immediately and gives the impression that something is wrong. I don't think much can be demanded of a web-based application but the slowness in processing new applications can be improved. Otherwise, they can lower the price a bit to increase sales of this product and increase its audience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At the moment I recommend to try Confluence for free and load it with many documents so that you can visualize the processing capacity, at the moment it is a little slow even with few users but with a very clean and purified interface that offers many options of collaboration with an interaction between the team quite renewed that encourages productive discussions of any work team.
