What do you like best about the product?
Confluence makes a good place for shared knowledge between teams

The editor and the general slowness. This is a common issue between Atlassian products

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the fact that it's quite slow

Mediocre tool for documentation

  • September 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Kind of a fine tool to documentation on corporate environment . There are provisions to create lot of pages, categorizing, moving them to different titles accordingly,
What do you dislike about the product?
No facilities for formatting, no options for customization , no features to resize the images as per our convenience and requirement. No provision to delete the row in a table added already.
There are no custom font size other than the styles provided default.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using documentation for the project related knowledge
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool for documentation, features to export the document in PDF, provisions to import our document, attaching documents, adding images are very good features, heading features and page content index to directly approach the content link.

a great tool to manage projects

  • September 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is great tool to manage projects and it is extremely easy to use to write documents there is no need to master the markup language or asciidoc or any others. You can create great-looking content with just the confluence UI. There a lot of plugins and addons out there that can be integrated with confluence like chat plugin and draw.io web site. Confluence will notify the team about changes made on specific content and it allows users to comment pages.
Confluence can be integrated with Jira easily.
Confluence provides a test version so you can test it and decide whether to buy it or not.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence security is difficult to manage. In fact, auto-updates are not possible and once a flow discovered things can go so wrong a serious issue is remote code execution (https://www.cvedetails.com/cve/CVE-2019-3398/) the only remedy available is to upgrade to another version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Products documentation
- project management
- content creation and detailed documentation
- meetings management
- link jira tickets to confluence
Recommendations to others considering the product:
- try to update confluence frequently and keep an eye about known and newly discovered issues and update your version to a newer one that is safe.
- try to find plugins that fit your business and make your documentation and project management easier

Great knowledgebase tool with limited styling options

  • September 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its as easy as writing a Wiki article and you can create quite fast a knowledge base for the complete company where everyone has access - if you want to. That's a big plus as well: You can set limited access wherever needed. Not just for "viewing" a page, but also for "editing" a page. One of the best things is, that you can integrate your Jira board for example. Just put the ticket via macro into the confluence area and you are good to go. It will update automatically based on Jira ticket progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
As mentioned in the header, there is a limited option of styling the confluence pages. This means there are only 7 colors you can use for texts. Tables aren't easy to set up in a "beautiful" way. For plain text you can only choose between headings and text itself. No options for adjusting sizes of the texts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We solve the mess we created with google drive. Way to many files which are now stored somewhere but nobody knows where exactly they are. Also if someone leaves the company, also his files will be gone, if nobody got access to them.
And second: Creating a knowledge base, everyone can easily access and read about the main how-tos in the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to use and to setup, also not expensive.

It's alright

  • September 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's very convenient to have a variety of documents and information in one place. Not everyone is always operating on the same platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find it difficult to navigate unless I know exactly the title of the page I'm looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it mostly to remind myself of the information I learned in onboard. I don't remember exactly what our fitness benefits are? I can go to the people team's page and search for those there.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you clarify what confluence is to all employees - it's something that is overwhelming to learn on the fly. It's so much information in one space and it's hard to know what's important when logging in for the first time totally on your own.

Very good tool, but needs to be modernized

  • September 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a standard tool for software development companies. It's simple to create pages and documentations. I'ts supported by atlassian and a there are many plugin/extensions
What do you dislike about the product?
It's java based. Require a large amount of ram and it's a bit old. It's also very expensive if you have a medium/large team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Creating company documentation and knowledge base.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you already use jira, confluence is a good tool to integrate.

Great for internal knowledge sharing, not so much for finding it

  • September 26, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All the information one can look for is available here.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search could see serious improvements, it is always a nightmare to find something.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When in need of internal information, I turn to Confluence and its in-depth content created by colleagues.
