Long time user

What do you like best about the product?
The ease at which the team can collaborate on the fly, regardless of location. We have a team that is spread out, with Chicago, Minneapolis, and Virginia along with folks in India. Very useful for easy collaboration on the fly
What do you dislike about the product?
The issues I have relate to IE, not confluence itself - confluence visual design gets worse and worse as the day goes on, requiring a restart of the browser to fix
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration, which happens very well Need to be able to have the clients we work with accessing the team site as well as be able to add and download material. Confluence allows for this as well as archival needs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Collaboration is a breeze; Best if used outside of IE 11, but still very usable for shorter periods

Great, easy to use and tracks all edits

What do you like best about the product?
I like the simplicity of Confluence. We use it primarily for knowledge sharing on projects and event/client specific information. We also use it to display internal information like training material, company phone book, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't anything specific that I don't like about Confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is the space where we collaborate cross-departmentally to share information across multiple clients and programs. We use it primarily as a shared space to find resources and collect data to disperse among different departments as a knowledge base.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
great product, very easy to use in a collaborative manner

Mediocre Wiki with good integrations to Jira

  • March 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The only reason to use Confluence is because it integrates nicely with Jira. There are much better solutions out there and they cost less or are free.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is slow and clunky and not very intuitive. The search has to be the worst I have every used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use confluence as respository for "as-built" information
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Improve search!

Confluence is the best collaboration platform

  • March 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The UI is clean and minimalist. Furthermore, the search results are accurate. I'm always able to find the articles needed to help me troubleshoot an issue.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, the platform somewhat felt intimidating when I was first using it because it seemed there's a lot going on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Wiki pages.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Highly recommend this product!

Works fine. Nothing earth-shattering.

  • March 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Creating and editing documents is simple. No training required. Nice integration with Jira, if that's important to you. It's certainly less clottered and messy than Teams and OneNote.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much to dislike. It's pretty straightforward. There just isn't much to love. If we replaced it with a different solution, I'd be 100 percent unfazed. You can get lost if you plan poorly and aren't careful, with poor naming conventions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for a lot of start docs / specs that are ultimately attached to Jira tickets when we implement. For that, it works fine, though it's easy to lose track of where you are--you can actually bounce into Jira without knowing, and Confluence's workspaces are easy rabbit holes where content can get lost. A lot of that can be overcome with good planning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're also using Jira, use Confluence. If not, it's no better or worse than anything else. Except OneNote. That thing is a hot mess.

Good product for team collaboration

What do you like best about the product?
Multiple people can watch and edit documents online. This allows us to communicate better and keep everyone on the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not always the must intuitive product. Difficult to create documents that look professional. No preview available when uploading a pages document.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration. Inter-department collaboration. Keeping work projects in an easily accessible area
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a great way to keep other departments aligned with the product team.

Great Utility for Engineering Requirements Collaboration

  • March 27, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy ability to create workspaces for different teams and for different features. There are a whole host of macros that you can use to format code, create table of contents, create user flows, and other functionalities.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is not a lot of functionality geared towards storytelling with rich visuals via Confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving creating a general workspace for collaboration and document requirements. It is beneficial to share these workspaces to others for knowledge transfer and on-boarding.
