Confluence: Collaboration at Its Finest

  • March 13, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Confluence's shared calendar feature, which makes it really easy to see what is going on with my colleagues in terms of when they'll be in/out and what projects they have going on.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had a couple issues come up that were difficult to address because it was difficult to understand or even explain what exactly was wrong. I didn't like that getting these fixed took quite a bit of time and effort.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has allowed me to collaborate with teammates on group research products in an efficient way.

Our preferred online meeting hub

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence isn't overly technical with handfuls of windows and screens that pop up everywhere. The layout and interface design are similar to common documents we typically work on in our daily business. I like being able to communicate with my team about particular points, sections, designs and other elements directly in the document. I like that there are templates and design options for just about all our business needs such as meetings, business plans, press releases and emails. A particularly useful feature is the ability to connect Confluence with other platforms like Jira and Trello.
What do you dislike about the product?
Though I really like using Confluence, there are some team members that find it confusing and don't pick up on all the functionality and options right away. It may take some time for less tech savvy people to get a hang of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has a been an excellent collaboration platform for shaping ideas and planning out general strategies and wording for documents, projects and miscellaneous office activities. We don't have to worry about hosting and managing the platform since it's available in the cloud. It's very convenient to be able to access my account any computer device so I can stay up to date with activities at any given moment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is solid collaboration platform that I'd highly recommend for throwing general ideas around or working on copy for business documents and marketing content. It's not the most effective for detailed collaborations, but it can definitely be a light and effective way to spark ideas and move projects and tasks forward.

What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes page editing is crazy when we have long document . Should be improved to jump to particular section of edit rather than entire page edit.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation and content sharing. As source of truth and approval or all official sign-off.

Amazing Place for Information

  • March 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use the Wiki aspect of Confluence and it's serving as an amazing repository of information. We're able to store information for different products we have and processes we need to follow. The way the spaces allow us to design makes it easy to use and find specific information. It allows teams to organize the information and pages in the most efficient way possible. What I love best is that I'm able to comment on pages and even export them as PDF or Word documents.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't think there's anything I dislike about Confluence. The only thing I would ask is that there be a place for directions on creating pages. Not many people are familiar with all of the macros that are available to use so a user guide would be amazing, or even a guided page creation view.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I believe we are creating efficiency by storing necessary information in one place. We use this information to help our customers. This saves us time by not having to search for documents in a cloud or in our emails. Definitely helps us deliver an amazing customer experience.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Excellent knowledge base for internal teams.

  • March 10, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The organization-ability of the articles is very useful. The labels and visibility settings help make certain articles visible to only certain access types. Having separate spaces enables our teams' to have a more specific and distraction-free space that is relevant to their tasks at hand. Also, having the ability to share a link to an article directly is very useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customer (end-user) portal could use some enhancements. To be able to design a landing page for the customer would be phenomenal, at this time it’s forced to either choose a service need type or choose a service desk (if more than one is made) - this doesn’t help if you have internal service desks and customer service desks because both show.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge is now in one place rather than in everybody’s inboxes or lost in Google Drive. Being able to have a visible, flexible, organizable knowledge base for all our developers and other users to search and access is priceless. Being able to build custom pages to showcase specific article types or labels is useful, too.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a great tool to gather your collective knowledge into one single source-of-truth. However, it does need some improvements on making the view permissions more clear. It does not have a "view as" feature where you can see the specific article as someone who is not a registered user, for instance, and that would be very helpful in maintaining the security of your knowledge-base.
