Not as user friendly as newer alternatives, but scales well and Jira integration is powerful
What do you like best about the product?
The templating is very powerful and it can be leveraged to easily manage repetitive processes. Realtime editing works well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Commenting functionality is hard to find and not as intuitive as Google docs. Can be slightly harder to use for less technical users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has provided a single repository for documentation around development efforts and product features. It makes it easy to keep things organized rather than having documents spread throughout different google drive accounts.

I have not found a specific feature I dislike.

Collaborating on improving processes, procedures, and protocols. Can work on the document together and save data

It does have the possibility to customize the platform as needed for collaboration between departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is not a product at the level of other competitors like ServiceNow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it as a collaboration platform internally in IT department.
Confluence for Internal Documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to create pages and adding widgets to make documentation much easier. Although it looks plain, it is consistent for documenting and collaborating with other teams. It also has a mobile app, but only new versions of Confluence are supported.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't like the limited tools to format text, tables, colors, etc. But I think this might be a good thing for users who try to make creative designs and bulky-looking pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to put our internal documentation on Microsoft Word documents, then moved them to Google Docs. Eventually, we had so much information that it made more sense to create and internal website. Classic Google Sites was the next move and it worked out for a while. However, with Classic Google Sites going away and the New Google Site not to parity, Confluence was the answer to put all of our internal documentation in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is not for websites. We could have easily created a Wordpress site and give everyone access to create pages and edits, but Confluence gives you the basics to get your documentation centralized.

A secure wiki-style document sharing platform
What do you dislike about the product?
It's isolated and does not appear to have an option to download an icon for easy desktop access
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This solves the need for a wiki site to poste relevant business documents

Create a link to a Confluence enterprise master page for easy access by staff through bookmarking.

1) the only dislike is huge decrease of performance when using plugins

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helping me to solve the issues of having good knowledge base across the company.
The benefit of this system is an ability to layout all types of content and with the mix of permissions to have it correctly placed internally and externally.

The best thing is how its easy to use. Everything is intuitively.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search engine can be better. Some advanced options will be nice.

A lot of things related to development. From requirements to meetings.

Easy to share info/docs across team and allow members to make edit and contributions.

Overall not much to complain about. I do get email notifications for every page I'm following which can be a bit overwhelming for my inbox.

We have coverage trackers in confluence making it easy to monitor when new pieces of coverage come through.

Confluence has really helped me with organization especially with the calendar share feature.

Required some training when first using.

My team has become alot more organized, following agile methods and streamlining our to-do lists in confluence

with many fields and lots of data entry, there are somethings that confluence can do better such as drop and drag, more directional fields.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

There is a level of quality and data entry that must be set up when using this product, if the team is committed to enforcing the use and integrity of the data, it can be really useful to keep projects on time.
