Confluence - Bank of knowledge!
What do you like best about the product?
At SAGE Publishing, Confluence is widely referred to as the one stop knowledge bank where anyone can visit for more information on a given topic or process. Almost each and every department of SAGE has its own Space on Confluence which is accessible to all.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the all white interface can become monotonous for the eyes. Also, it would have been great if the tables had thicker borders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is being used as a knowledge powerhouse/bank at SAGE Publishing. It is extremely useful for a new employee as he/she can simply flip through the pages to get a quick overview of his/her department.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great if you want to build a knowledge bank at your organisation!

It might be overwhelming for new users about the usage of the product. They might have to learn and navigate to understand the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have written unit test cases using Confluence. These test cases were later linked in JIRA. Using Confluence, we have also provided an overview of the application that we were working on.

It is definitely a great product that can be used for knowledge management, repository management and linking the test cases to tickets in JIRA.

What do you like best about the product?
It's ergonomic design is probably the best aspect of Confluence. It is simple but useful - gives you numerous ways to format data - embed images, flowcharts etc as per requirement.
For companies having a lot of in-house software development, this is a very good place to keep documentation in a centralized location so as to enable reuse of functionalities.

Our firm is a big company with multiple teams across locations. A lot of softwares are developed in-house. Confluence serves as a central repository at our firm to store and share data about components that can be reused.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a flexible and efficient CMS you can't go wrong with Confluence.
Confluence is a fair but disconnected solution
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence offers flexible templates, solid sharing, storage, and easy access solutions for business looking to communicate and collaborate across people, teams, and offices.
What do you dislike about the product?
As a product manager, I spend most of my time in Aha! managing strategies and releases and in Jira managing sprints and stories. While Confluence allows me to record and share information, I would rather do so in Aha! or Jira to minimize the systems I have to use and the places my teams have to go for information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Recording and sharing of information. My organization has used Confluence for years, and we have benefitted from it; however, the recent increase in the use of Google Docs, Aha!, and Jira has made Confluence more of a burden than a help.
