Great Feature
What do you like best about the product?
I enjoy how you can have a separate space for each team needed and within those you can have pages that you need and you are able to set privacy setting were you can access a space but still keep certain pages only visible to your team. It’s als very easy to include any JIRA tickets or rokects that are being worked on.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not being able to archive pages, you can only delete them which isn’t always what is wanted
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Being able to use Confluence has provided our company with a better control of our documentation and security of it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are always updates being made making it easier and easier to use
The only Wiki that I saw working
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is an excellent collaboration tool. In my 15 years career, it was the only wiki-like tool that I effectively saw working, with multiple people mantaining project pages. I credit this to the facility of use and features such HTML custom code, where I can write JS code and integrate with any API
What do you dislike about the product?
Text formatting is quite limited and annoying, and I end up opening the markup code directly some time to apply some styles. It could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software development projects. Use as central repository to list releases scope and technical details.
Best for Documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Sharing knowledge with other teammates and vice versa. You alwasy have great resource ful links when documented
What do you dislike about the product?
Creating the blog in it is a pain !!! Looking for something simpler on UI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Costly if you are not buying it !
Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easily confluence integrates with other platforms, such as LucidChart. It is very easy to create training materials and knowledge bases, and manage rules. If done well, it can be used to hold very clean and professional documentation that is easy to version control.
What do you dislike about the product?
The main thing I dislike is the ownership of different articles, and that the titled owner remains the same once they are no longer with the company. Additionally, the design of the articles is up to the interpretation of the author, so there may be discrepancies between tone and style.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have used confluence to hold knowledge bases and training materials as well as to hold sensitive company documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be as thorough as possible. It as good as the team creating the content.
confluence used for business requirements documents
What do you like best about the product?
confluence is a good place to post business requirements and test cases when building out solutions. the good thing is that it is often linked to Jira so you can match your user stories with the documents in confluence. I like the clean pages with simple text and font as well as since it is not pdf based, you can view all the documents from the web browser, there is not need to download anything
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that it is like any other document repository, there could be a way to distinguish it self from competitors. with any document sharing tool there are the downsides, such as limitations to how you format or edit the content you want to share.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
we use this to store all the business requirements that are used to build out the test cases. we use it as the single source of truth to document what the client says and decisions that are made with the client. this document is also dynamic, it solves the issue of multiple people trying to edit at once, instead it will always show the latest form and we do not have to worry about multiple people looking at different versions
Recommendations to others considering the product:
good to use hand in hand with jira, use jira to track sprints, log defects, and schedule timelines. confluence is good to store all the supporting documentation, it is fast and simple/ intuitive to use, minimal training is needed for new users
Go to space for all information
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it’s easy to manage different spaces and there are some basic templates include that make it easier to add new documents
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like the file uploaded for “file lists” it takes too long and can sometimes makes me try multiple time just to upload one file.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helps manage all documents for projects and allows me to track decisions, system requirements, etc.
Love the Atlassian products
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence. Company specific Wiki. Training manuals, sales process and hand off
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like templates (such as for index pages)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
document creation, transparency
Good but could be great
What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that it is a relatively easy to use repository.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that the repository search functions are not stronger.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this to store all of our company policies and procedures. The benefit is not financial as much as, we are typically able to find what we need in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Being able to search the knowledge base better and easier would make this a stronger tool.
Gets the job done
What do you like best about the product?
Many organizations have an instance so its valuable to move content around for client to client
What do you dislike about the product?
Dated look and feel..needs a UI upgrade. Not as capable a page design function.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
General team and information sharing
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't try to do too much with it and keep designs simple
I would rather use Google Shared Docs
What do you like best about the product?
It helps disparate teams have a central repository for information. Pretty straight forward navigation tools. It is useful to track things that live within Jira, such as deploys, release notes, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel that the functionality is fairly light for information outside of what is already in Jira. I think other PM tools that integrate with Jira may serve this purpose with more granularity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting Deploys, product planning (light), release notes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Not great for use outside of dev teams
