Best Collaborative Workspace - Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
It allows teams to collaborate in real time, maintain well-structured documentation, and easily track changes or contributions. The seamless integration with Jira is a major advantage, especially for project management and software development teams, as it connects documentation directly to tasks and workflows. The use of templates and macros also makes it incredibly easy to standardize content and keep everything organized across the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Confluence is that the user interface can become overwhelming as the volume of content grows.
Without strict structure and maintenance, pages can easily get disorganized, making it difficult to find relevant information. Also, while the editor is generally easy to use, it lacks some advanced formatting options found in traditional word processors, and working with tables or embedded content can feel clunky at times. Finally, for new or non-technical users, learning how to effectively use macros and manage permissions can be a bit challenging.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is solving the problem of scattered information and inconsistent documentation across teams.
Before using Confluence, important knowledge was often siloed in emails, chats, or individual files. Now, we have a centralized, searchable space where everyone can access the latest updates, project details, and documentation in real time. This has improved transparency, reduced duplication of work, and made onboarding new team members much easier. It also helps us maintain alignment across departments by keeping everything—from meeting notes to SOPs—organized and accessible.

A Reliable Knowledge Hub with Room to Grow
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a fantastic platform for centralized documentation and team collaboration. It’s highly structured yet flexible, making it ideal for both technical and non-technical teams. I particularly appreciate the page hierarchy, templates, and tight integration with other Atlassian tools like Jira. The ability to collaboratively edit pages and leave inline comments improves team communication and keeps documentation living and relevant.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search functionality can feel underpowered in large workspaces, and permissions management—especially for nested pages—can get confusing. Also, the editor, while improved over time, still lacks the polish and performance of some modern alternatives. Pricing can also become a concern for growing teams or startups.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helps us centralize all project-related documentation and decision logs in one place, reducing fragmentation and eliminating reliance on scattered documents or email chains. It enables asynchronous collaboration, especially across multiple university automation projects. With nested page hierarchies, templates, and inline comments, it supports structured documentation, team knowledge sharing, and smoother onboarding. It also integrates well with Jira, enhancing our agile workflows.

Its seamless integration with Jira makes it perfect for agile teams, allowing us to link documentation directly to development tasks. The version history is a life-saver, and its search functionality helps quickly find past content, even in large knowledge bases.
