What do you like best about the product?
I really love the interface and the ease of access with Confluence.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the fact that some permissions aren't as granular as I'd like them to be. Sometimes the permissions menu and the inherited permissions don't work as well as I'd like them to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence as an internal wiki of information. We use it for how-to documentation as well.

  • January 07, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to start documenting existing actions and create process and reference points. It is also easy to connect tickets and also introduce the benefits of formalizing all the requests in a single platform for growing startups that need to start watching the cost of supporting a customer. The tools allows for some forms of built-in reporting.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've championed the use of confluence for the team. It took approximately 11 months of discussions. At this point i am focused on what works. So i cannot report on what i dislike just yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing LTV; development costs. Adding cost and effort visibility for the team: anyone from the development to services and sales teams.

Good for use as a wiki

What do you like best about the product?
I like the ability to create a custom space where I can store documentation, write notes, and collaborate with teammates. It is also joined at the hip with Jira which we use to manage our daily work.
What do you dislike about the product?
As powerful as it is, It can be a bit unwieldy at times. It is like a giant room with no walls and you need to decide where to put the walls, define the rooms, set the rules, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
many groups use it here differently, but almost all are using it as a place to store information (notes, documentation, etc.) relevant to the project at hand.

We've Been Using Confluence for Years

  • January 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Confluence in a very simple way - to share information. And it's very effective for this purpose. Confluence - as part of the whole Atlassian ecosystem - is a very powerful tool with TONS of features. We probably use 5% of what it can really do - and that's enough for us, and even at that level we still find it to be cost effective.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because we only use a small portion of the Confluence toolkit, the user interface can be a bit heavy for our purposes. It might be nice if we could toggle to a simpler version where we could strip away a lot of the UI that we don't use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence primarily for internal information sharing and document reference/archive. We work better as a team when using this tool, and we know we can always find that "great idea" or important bit of information when we need it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely consider Confluence for information sharing in an organization. I believe that the bigger your organization, the more you will get out of it. And if you use multiple Atlassian modules together (e.g. Confluence with Jira) - the value increases even more. As always - consider other options on the market. But we've always like Confluence enough that we haven't evaluated competing products in a long time.
