    Public Relations and Communications

Great for an internal knowledge base

  • January 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and set up, plus it keeps our information organized and easy to access anywhere with the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface feels a little dated, the solution is you can buy new themes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used to house our organizational knowledge on google docs, but that wasn't easy to organize. Using confluences we can organize the pages as we see fit and add in labels for easy searching.

I Love confluence

What do you like best about the product?
It is really easy to use. It is a helpful tool that allows us to communicate across all teams. We have a really large company and this tool makes it really easy to collaborate with each other. I love the calendar feature on the application as well. I am able to see when all my coworkers will be out of the office on PTO and for other reasons. It also keeps a nice schedule for our on call rotation.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is very difficult to organize. Once you have started adding documents it is really hard to go back and make it organized. All of our documents are just dumped into different tabs that dont make sense. It also doesnt hold very large videos. You have to edit and cut your videos in order to get them posted. I do not like that because we like to collaborate and share different videos and with them all cut up they look weird and do not flow very well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problem we are solving is that we are able to collaborate and have visibility on the entire company. Even our partners in India, Canada, and China. Being able to watch how these teams as well as other teams solve problems is a huge benefit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Go for it! It is a really useful tool. It would be good for a large company or a small company.

Great internal documentation and collaboration tool!

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to dynamically tag other pages, content, and people paired with the native integration with JIRA and all the additional tools and features like the macros make this a wonderful documentation and collaboration tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much I dislike about the program aside from the inability to share certain pieces of information on a Confluence page publicly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As our organization is growing, we are finding it increasingly difficult to continue our old practice of tossing a sticky note over the cubicle as a way of sharing information. Confluence has allowed us to document and share information efficiently across our organization, which has been invaluable in the pursuit of growth.

Confluence is Confusing

  • January 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to build, design, and link in 3rd party content. They do a good job of letting you create what you need to.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search Functionality. It sucks. Its impossible to find anything you need using their search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Each Org of our business keeps project files, a database of knowledge, new employee training resources in Confluence.

Technical Documentation in Confluence

  • January 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a collaboration wiki tool used to help teams to collaborate and share knowledge efficiently. With confluence, we can capture project requirements, assign tasks to specific users, and manage several calendars at once
What do you dislike about the product?
The email notifications that are sent when a watched page is changed could be improved to highlight the changes better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Business wanted to integrate JIRA which turned .out to be a no brainier. The out of the box integration was seemless. Live editing made collaboration easy.
Also reduced the need to email meeting notes and have multiple people save copies locally.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Very simple and intuitive user interface.
Very easy to go ahead and start writing, very low "learning curve", really fun.
No need for a different authoring tool, compile and publish cycles. Simply edit and save and voila!

It's not perfect in the space it's in, but it's a market leader

  • January 04, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
-Confluence is relatively easy to add and edit content in
-Fairly seamless integration with many external products as well as JIRA
What do you dislike about the product?
-Lacks external facing features without internal licensing
-Over-engineered 'layers' UI creates an emphasized need to use the global search feature to really find anything
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it primarily for internal project management, execution, and documentation.

Replaced our file server and Word files

  • January 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is such a great tool for sharing documentation that we migrated all of our legacy documentation to Confluence Cloud. It's easy to use, organize and fine information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not all of the document editor features are as robust as MS-Word so there are some limits in terms of efficiency but most of the work we do in Confluence doesn't require complex capabilities so the loss of efficiency is minimal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation, reference guides for customers, white papers, capture knowledge capital, product planning, capture ideas, document product releases and more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It takes a while to migrate legacy documents and it's worth investing time in templates and macros to assist.

    Marketing and Advertising

Effective but not user friendly

  • January 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great way to house assets and information about internal products. It is accessible to all employees within our company
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature rarely pulls up what you are looking for and the ability to quickly modify pages is not very user-friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company uses Confluence to store sales assets, process docs for account managers, general news bulletins, and knowledge base. It is helpful to have a central location for all of our materials, but general feedback from the staff is they can't find anything.

Pretty Neat Interface

  • January 02, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Confluence from past 5-6 years for various clients. I have seen the user interface getting improved significantly over the years. I love the PDF export option which exports the whole report written anywhere flawlessly and with perfect page alignment. So, while I am preparing any report, I just have to care about my content which I am writing and Confluence does rest of the work on its own.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would love to get the API uses bit more easily. I had to setup a lot to use the API functionality and the documentation to use it was a lot complex and unclear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly for documentation work with my multiple clients. I would say this tool is the most widely used.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It definitely makes team work very very simple. Collaborating using confluence is very easy and at the same time history of events is automatically logged. So, we can easily identify who has done what.
