A super-powered github

  • November 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is something which behaves like Github, but provides much, much more depth. If you want complete control over your project, including setting milestones, adding wikis, creating roadmaps, allocating work, and tieing this all in to your commits, this is the standard.
What do you dislike about the product?
As many note when talking about Jira products, Confluence suffers from a worse UI than github and gitlab.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used confluence in the past to manage the roadmap, development, and sprint planning of a large government application. It could do anything we wanted, all in one place. We have realized many benefits of having an AIO (All-in-one) software like Confluence, such as faster and more focused development, clear ties between development and written requirements, and managing work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you require more than github or gitlab, this is the product for you.

Confluence is Clunky but could be Cool

  • November 05, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like this product when I think about it at its core and what the goal of it is. It is a good place for storing documents and for version controlling documents, plus for collaborating with others. I also like that it is easy and intuitive to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
My company's version of Confluence is so messy and confusing. It is hard to keep things organized and making the files neat is hard. Also, the search capabilities are severely lacking and return very disorganized and hard to understand results.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Allows us to collaborate as a team and to store documents/create pages for various teams that are meaningful. We have been able to streamline processes and access things more easily.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure that you have good company policies/administrators

A solid archiving product

  • November 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Confluence is how easy it is to share page links. It is so easy to get a new hire onboarded or communicate context across different teams by simply sharing a link to an archive. Confluence makes it really easy to create archival pages however you need or want to create them-- it's totally customizable and very simple to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence doesn't really have templates handy and ready to go. Any pages that are created on Confluence have to be created from scratch, unless you copy and paste over a "template" that you create yourself. Also, sometimes their servers have issues which means that you can't save what you've been working on-- kind of important! There are also no team-specific search filters-- i.e. if you search for something in the search bar, you end up with results for every Confluence page in the entire company (unless the team you're looking for happened to know about the search macro that you can insert...but most don't).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using Confluence, our team has easily streamlined the onboarding process for new hires and is able to widely disseminate archival information. It also provides our team with an internal hub to store all of our tools and resources that we use on a daily and not-so-daily basis. Since other teams at our company utilize Confluence, too, it also allows us to easily research archives and search for important works that we didn't participate in. Overall it's a great place for storage and dissemination of information, particularly archival information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is one of the best archival/content management product I've ever used at a company. It allows for a lot of customization in formatting, which can be good or not so good depending on the type of company you are and how tech-savvy your employees are. Either way, however, it's extremely easy to locate and disseminate information using Confluence.

Best Collaboration App for Teams

  • November 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that we can create and personalize different "spaces" and assign access levels for each space. The import and export functions to Word/PDF along with Slack integration are worth noting.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far the forms and functions have been well-liked and useful to our teams and the bigger organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We want to "eliminate silos" and bring everyone together. We were able to scale down face-to-face meetings improving our efficiency. For example, engineering can detail existing and potential problems so we can communicate and work with our customers effectively.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have recommended this collaboration tool to other business partners ranging from startup to established environments. Majority are happy that it does the job and meets their needs.

Great repository, needs upkeep

  • November 01, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the visual aspect of Confluence. It is a great way to store graphical and written information and I see it like a digital 'playbook' for projects, campaigns and initiatives that can be shared universally across all users.
What do you dislike about the product?
The collaboration is great until the maintenance stops. Confluence can become a repository for outdated materials and locating the very latest stuff can be a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used it for detailed go to market plans and for training materials we want to share at a more indepth level than is typical for the sales org.

AN INNOVATIVE WAY TO SHARE IDEAS

  • October 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In a company with workers who really focus on doing the best job Confluence is a platform that allows you to edit files sharing ideas and making each project a satisfaction with support and collaboration, the knowledge imparted is well received.
What do you dislike about the product?
The tools of the general administrator are really good, so I would like everyone to have it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To see the work process for the design of projects integrating opinions to create an excellent work is what we needed to project the best version of the company with the help of all. the feature that stands out most for us is being able to integrate it with Jira.
