Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
Content is presented in a clear and crisp manner. Search is very good.
What do you dislike about the product?
You cannot directly click on links in the text, it's confusing sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is being used by support as internal material for training as well as for solving customer problems.
Very Userful Wiki-like Interface
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to modify pages + collaborate on topics across teams
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the extra features aren't immediately intuitive, sometimes hard to find things when there is TOO much info
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
documentation, task management, project management
Functional, not the best interface
What do you like best about the product?
Rich set of features, fairly reliable, used by entire department
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be difficult and counterintuitive - out of the box. It is configurable, but that requires resources we apply elsewhere
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
collaboration, problem tracking
Good repository
What do you like best about the product?
Great place for knowledge/process sharing
What do you dislike about the product?
Heavily leans towards tech people - can often get confusing as to where things are
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Where our source of internal knowledge lies
Great to keep information
What do you like best about the product?
I like that its very handy/user friendly to input information and to find information. I helped build alot of my companies pages within our version of confluence. It works very well and is used across departments at my company.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that sometimes if you are trying to find something for a specific department you have to construct your search within confluence to cater to certain keywords that a department might use. For example if I'm trying to find something for customer support but am looking for an article on how to do something and just type a generic keyword it will often pick up information from other departments such as I.T.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving business problems by incorporating information across teams & departments before there wasn't any transpercy or you'd have to talk to the department head or someone individually in that department to find answers. This makes it so you can go into confluence and search for an answer before having to ask someone.
Best Tool to Organize Large Projects
What do you like best about the product?
My team and I use Confluence for documentation and tracking on dozens of projects. Instead of typing up a PDF document and sharing through email, we can just send over Confluence links for relevant projects. It's perfect for keeping team members on track and getting new members up to speed.
What do you dislike about the product?
More tagging/organization features would be nice. Also, linking projects to one another from different pages would be great!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving documentation and project tracking problems with Confluence. We have realized multiple benefits, including the ability to quickly bring new team members up to speed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a one-stop solution for documentation and project tracking, I highly recommend Confluence. You can also integrate Confluence into many other applications, like team chats and email.
Average software, there are better out there
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease to collaborate and share the information internally. It securely saves my documents such that it is not available to the outside world.
What do you dislike about the product?
The comments section is somewhat helpful but the ability to add inline comments would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saving the information internally across teams. It is like an internal wikipedia for our business. When people leave the org, they don't take the knowledge with them as it stays here.
Confluence - The power of the simple
What do you like best about the product?
Collaboration is nowadays key to success. Confluence makes it simple by being a cloud tool that empowers your teams to create their own content and flavor it with multiple out-of-the-box plug-ins and templates. Is a great complement to your JIRA deployment and most of the integrations between both platforms work pretty seamlessly. There's also plenty of third-party plug-ins that are handy for integrating specialized content like design models. The notifications system is also great when you're tracking the progress of a specific article or document.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cloud platform is rather slow. Atlassian has improved it lately but is still somehow annoying enough. Migrations from Sharepoint are painful. I've seen companies desisting on Confluence as there's no easy path for them to migrate. In general, Atlassian should work on achieving MS Office interoperability with their tool suite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledgebase, meetings minute taking, project documentation, requirements management, internal article publishing, ideation processes, solution designs.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is best for teams starting afresh. But late adoption is also possible. If you're starting an agile practice and using JIRA, don't be afraid and embrace Confluence as well. As with any CMS, define a content structure that matches the needs of your team/process; avoid having a documentation extravaganza by setting some rules of engagement from the start.
Essential collab software for teams
What do you like best about the product?
Isolated "spaces" keep information separated when multiple teams are using the same Confluence. Being able to deploy on-prem was a core reason for deploying this product.
What do you dislike about the product?
The deployment process and tight integration with Jira itself are negatives in my book. The out-of-the-box Java packaged with Confluence is dated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have several teams that need to both share information as well as keep a repository of internal-only documents and how-tos. We tested a couple of competing products but ultimately liked working with Confluence more than the others.
Helpful, accessible, ease of use
What do you like best about the product?
Easy search abilities, good integration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes slow and sometimes inefficient
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Technical problems
