Information can get lost into mini silos and it's hard to maintain. The searching is peculiar.

What do you dislike about the product?
Not very easy to format, or create tables - like its very easy in word, but not very simple here.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a big program for API;s with team spread globally across multiple locations. Having central document repository which is live is very important, so we can do knowledge collequeum/sharing across teams, and a mechanism to pass review/feedback. As the documents are live, they are always the latest.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best tool, to maintain your documents, to solve technical knowledge sharing with a globally spread team working on a critical agile problem. This has version control, which helps you look at history. It is feature rich, and you can upload any sort of documents, version them, can share on emails etc.
Share information
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to share information on training. This is especially important in a job like mine where we have to wear many hats.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can't think of anything right away. It seems to fulfill its intended purpose.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Spreading training and awareness in the department.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Put a lot of information in. It will make it more useful to your employees.
Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
It was a great space to have everything surrounding company policy and procedure. It was easy to add and collect important information regarding internal workings.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not very intuitive. It is a bulky system with an interface that is not the most user friendly. Once you get the hand of it, it is a bit better, but the learning curve is large.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had a lack of a centralized information storage system. We have found that Confluence has helped our team members upload and keep track of everything they are working on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would just be patient with learning the interface. once you have the hang of it, it tends to get a bit easier. However, it is a bit tough to get the curve if you're not used to very basic and un-intuitive interfaces.
Good collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Through put and search tools Overall finding what you want you need the exact names
What do you dislike about the product?
Not easy to navigate from a place to a location or file you need A good fuzzy search would really help
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Integration of reti to development
Lots of potential
What do you like best about the product?
For me, confluence is a great tool when you utilized at its full potential. That is not a reflection on the tool as much as it is on the way a company wants to use Confluence.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not as flashy as one might hope in 2018. There are certainly other tools that allow for storing of updates, project tracking, etc. that has a more gamification user feel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is a great place for storing details - from project tracking, job description collaboration, etc. People on a team can jump in on different projects due to the transparency provided by having everything in Confluence.
Use Confluence for your Wiki
What do you like best about the product?
Every items is indexed so you can search the whole "space" using keywords and even if what you are looking for is in a different space then it will show you results from there too.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes IE can't handle the processes and the page crashes, usually while editing but luckily any changes are saved as a draft.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Very effective knowledge base.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You could probably do the same with SharePoint if not more. The difference is SharePoint is completely customisable whereas confluence isn't. SharePoint takes a lot longer to configure out of the box and confluence is pretty much ready to go, with a few tweeks.
Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
I like that we can add our marketing materials, so that anyone else in the company can use it. It's the most important aspect of how I use Confluence in this company. The resources we provide are easy to find, view, and download.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm new to the software platform, so it wasn't the easiest to learn how to set up pages that I wanted to add etc. as I originally anticipated. That being said, I adapted fairly quickly to the system.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is easier for members outside of our team to find the resources they need. Organization and having only the "final" copy available to people that aren't familiar with art files makes it easier for them to find what they need.
Useful tool to keep everyone on the same page
What do you like best about the product?
I love the organization and the clean formatting of this tool. Great for keeping all team members on the same page and when any edits or changes are made, everyone is notified to stay up to date. All goes in how you use it, but our team uses it as our own "Wiki" of information for our projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the updates are tedious, but I think this is something that can be changed in settings as opposed to a problem with the app itself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping the team informed and knowledgeable on how to approach tasks and customer issues. Beneficial that everyone has access to it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Utilize this collaborative tool for everything you can. It will be a life saver when you least expect it.
