Organized Information without the mess

  • September 11, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I mainly work within one space for my team - this is our main "hub" for all process and policy information for what we do. So, I appreciate any layout which simplifies and collapses sections so I don't get assaulted by too much information at once.

As for the custom Pages, I like that many different types of sections can exist organized on one page. I only need to look at one Page to see all my options. This lessens the amount of clicks and takes guesswork out of searching for information.

I love the centralized calendar to see all my colleagues' plans and PTO at once.

I like that all changes are listed as updates in the feed, as well as on individual pages
What do you dislike about the product?
When I leave a comment underneath a certain section, I would prefer the option to have it email me when someone else comments or responds. Oftentimes I will comment because a certain section is outdated and I want to draw attention to it, but if I don't get an email or some notice I will forget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is mostly split between California, New Jersey, and Dublin, IE with several remote employees elsewhere. We are responsible for resolving billing issues with thousands of customers, and have several dozen processes to follow, with policies that update and change daily.
Within the company there are still different types of information existing on different platforms but adopting Confluence has been a step in the right direction.

Can Be Confusing

  • September 11, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I wouldn't say there was anything I liked best - I did think it could allow for a lot more organization if the right person was in charge of keeping it up.
What do you dislike about the product?
I felt like it could be really confusing to someone who isn't used to the product. I don't think it is nearly as user friendly as it's spouted off as being...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were trying to use it to keep notes and processes in line. our work was changing on a daily basis - with new goals added - new steps to work through - and new teams we were working with... We were hoping to make this into a tool that anyone in the company could use.

Team Collaboration Hub

What do you like best about the product?
Collaborating with my team could not be done without Confluence. All our documentation is stored there for best practices, processes, tips & tricks, communication plans etc If someone is working on a project to help make our team better they can easily map out what’s being done so the rest of the crew knows what is going on and how it will push positive change.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were a few more ‘templates’ to help make organization and navigation easier one our pages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team documentation, efficiency, and consistency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you have a plan of how to switch over.

Not too intuitive

  • September 06, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's nice that everyone has access and can get connected. The Watch feature is great, because you can watch issues that are relevant to you, and get instant updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature is not very accurate, and it's really, really hard to find the articles you're looking for. I've had to bookmark everything I use regularly (even stuff I've created) because it doesn't come up accurately on a search.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it as a place to house information. It makes it a bit easier to share knowledge instantly, and stay updated on various projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think it can solve a lot of business problems, but expect to have a significant learning curve, and expect to take time to train all of your stakeholders.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are creating consistency within our organization, which satisfies our customers better. I have realized that it’s so helpful to have documents in one comprehensive place for everyone to access.

More simple than previous program

  • September 04, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This is a much more straight forward, simplified version of the program my company was using previously. More user friendly and functional.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still a bit cluttered, but most likely difficult to unclutter something that contains so much information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ability to find training and other information in a fairly clear and organized space.

Great documentation portal once you know how to use it

  • September 02, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Keeps everything centralized. Pages can be hyperlinked to each other.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to learn how to use it. Sometimes tree is difficult to navigate. Page names have to be different if under same tree even if they're under different branches.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Enterprise-wide documentation portal. Centralized knowledge base.
