Great tool for collaboration

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love the ease of editing functions - so easy to create, share and edit docs by one person or another
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as user-friendly as I’d like. Some really straightforward things require a lot of head scratching to figure out
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the wiki through confluence - it gives us a one-stop shop for training docs. Keeping everything in one centralized cloud rather the computer files in a shared network drive makes workflow more efficient

Slightly outdated visuals, but remains adequately functional.

Used for internal company info, such as contact info, critical known issues, escalation procedures, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Convenient and simple tool, functional if not stunning visually.

Documentation of both internal and external features

Monster Functionality but the worst and slowest UI as the result

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
There are may things I like about confluence apps. First of all - the apps provide a great variety of functional tools that any company can find useful.
Second of all, from the very beginning of your experience with confluence apps you will have pretty much everything needed and you will be able to expand with extra extensions and extra plugins.
All that makes Confluence great additional to other powerful apps of the family like Jira, Stride, Hipchat.

The apps are really well interconnected and can be used within each other. this is a great place for developers who like to use specific tools for certain needs and still have everything connected.

The idea of confluence as a place of knowledge is great and many people can benefit from it, however, there are few important Nos.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Speed

One of the first things you notice in Confluence as you grow your presence there is the speed. And it does not specifically matter on the internet connection or type of computer. The apps are slow and gigantic.
The whole weight of the functionality they carry is bringing them down and therefore make it very hard to operate them.

2. Design
Another great miss of confluence is the overall design.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With confluence My friends and I are solving issues with bugs and errors in our projects we develop.
Confluence is great for that purpose, Jira is a nice bug tracker and solver and the other apps can support with the Wiki functionality and propose some possibilities for communication.

Now when hip chat and stride has been bought by slack, we can believe in even better integrations between two giants and I am really expecting it to be great!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
*Please, make it faster.
*Make more flexibility with the UI

Great way to stay connected with other team members

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that everyone can add their own stories and tasks to the project board. We have team members across the country. It's a great tool that we can all log in to our team page and see what is going on, what projects are coming up, what sprints are going etc. The ease of use is great!
What do you dislike about the product?
There are times that the site is a little sluggish or overwhelmed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There are over 100 team members across the country that can stay connected on our projects with this.

    Information Technology and Services

A good cooperative software

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
That everyone can be aware of any articles and new information and it can be shared between departments.
What do you dislike about the product?
That the updates are not made in real time, so you can't see whether someone is editing something or the documents cannot be locked in that case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration and knowledge sharing between departments. We have benefited on a better up-to-date status of the new thing the Technology department is doing so us as Support can be more aware of them.

    Fund-Raising

Useful, but not sure I'd use over other apps

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Simple layout, clean design, easy to use
What do you dislike about the product?
Given all the other available apps out there to track tasks, updates, job, etc, I'm not sure why I'd choose this app/platform over others that are more easily accessible and free to use
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Shared knowledge/updates between teams

    Information Services

Incredibly helpful collaboration tool

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
- Easiness of use and fast onboarding
- Very flexible user management
- Deep integration with JIRA, for example, instant JIRA issues creation from a Confluence page
- So much more additional functionality with add-ons - both free and paid
- Fast and accurate 'Live search'
- Very useful predefined page templates, like Meeting Notes, Retrospectives, Product Requirements, etc.
- Dozens of 'Macros' that help you to enhance the content of the pages, interlink it and make more dynamic
What do you dislike about the product?
- So much useful features are only available with paid add-ons (like connection with MS Sharepoint)
- Not very smart built-in 'Labels' macro, had to replace it with paid add-on
- Not very smart way of working with tables, had to use a paid add-on for that
- iPad app looks cool, but kind of lame when it comes to real text editing. I always use a tablet during meetings to take notes directly to Meeting Notes in Confluence. And it seems that just using Google Chrome to access and edit Confluence pages work better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The major problem we were solving as Project Management Office is to combine and consolidate all project related information in one place with an easy access for all stakeholders and with an easy way to manage this data for project managers. The benefits are all that I listed above:
- a single point for everyone in the office to go to when they need to get project updates or specific info on their parts
- an easy and very modern tool for project managers and project teams to create and maintain project data, as well as to collaborate during projects completion.

    Government Administration

Helpful in the workplace

  • July 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a place where the whole team can collaborate and document processes. It provides an easy way to organize this documentation as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
At tones the sleast arch feature makes it hard to nail down the correct location of the information that you are trying to acquire.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes the work easier to document with links and easy to read access of additional documents.
