Minimalist design
What do you like best about the product?
I love how the minimalist design of confluence provides ease of use. Navigation is clear and simple with different icons to select on the homepage, and the search bar is easy to find documents quickly without digging around forever.
What do you dislike about the product?
Even though I like the simplicity, I wish there was more color. I find that color-coding can make things appear more organized, especially when there are dozens of sub threads I’m sifting through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is a great platform for my company’s intranet. Everyone has access, anyone can edit if given permission, and all our documents are uploaded here. It’s easy to link pages to emails and other messaging systems so that other people on my team can quickly access the correct page.
The best Documentation and project management tool

Confluence is used as collaborative documentation tool for the team. It helps to move the project forward with meaningful and collaborative documentation support.
Great tool for knowledge sharing and team documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great tool for sharing and collaborating on training notes, product documentation, and team information. One of the most useful things it offers is the ability to search for documentation written by a functional area outside of your own. This reduces the time spent on knowledge transfer sessions or lengthy explanatory emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating pages, editing can be a little frustrating at times. For perfectionists like me, it can be difficult to remove the extra spaces that appear between lines, line up columns to be the same height, etc. There is also a strong reliance on plug-ins to get the job done - which is great, if your company is willing to pay for them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to collaborate on documentation as we encounter a new topic or as a new product is being built. It's a great tool when used to its full potential, as long as the whole team collaborate and aren't afraid to make changes to out-of-date content.
Powerful but complicated to use as an end user - a lot of set up required.
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to quickly record team pertinent information and how it connects into Jira. Ability to quickly make a share and tutorials with internal members of staff.
Easily documenting and recording policies team centric and also company wide. I would hate to know how many hours I have spent recording documentation in there.
Because of the easy ability to quickly record information we have used it as the corner stone of our on-boarding strategy for new employees, when they find issues the documentation is reviewed and improved ever evolving into a better piece of documentation for future employees as a small company quick on-boarding and self on boarding to a larger extent is very important for us to maintain momentum.

What do you dislike about the product?
For many years Jira has lagged the necessary features to be productive without using the Markup they want you to use. Some of it is still difficult to use, for example the Roadmap features are a pain.
But it is now becoming much easier to edit and to do things with tables etc.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing a distributed team and capturing their knowledge into our knowledge base. Communicating common policies and having a platform with revision history that is able to distribute them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If we were starting again I would probably advise not to go with confluence and to use something like google spaces that you do not need to secure and maintain. There is a lot of overhead with maintaining a system like confluence especially if you only have a small team.
