My Confluence Review

  • April 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Confluence is that everything I need to discuss with my team is all in one convienent place. Everyone can access and share their ideas with one another.
What do you dislike about the product?
There really isn’t anything I can think that I dislike about Confluence. Sometimes there are glitches in the application software, but nothing that is not able to be managed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I said above, everything is all in one place for my team to be able to collaborate effectively. We are able to stay organized and work better together. An idea can easily be generated and shared using this software.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s a wonderful program. I use it on my own avail to collaborate effectively with my team. Give it a shot, you have nothing to lose.

Confluence works great for collaboration

  • April 29, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how one can customize the confluence front page to be a lot more customer friendly than just lists and tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
Navigation can sometimes be confusing, especially if you have a customized home page
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration work space, tracking of initiatives and tasks
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Governance is critical, or else the work space becomes complicated really fast, and navigation becomes a pain

Great Workplace Tool!!

  • April 29, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is really great for organization and having all things in ONE place - amazing tool for keeping all training materials in one place!
What do you dislike about the product?
Its a little basic, kind of plain user interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Probably the biggest problem is that you have to go to a lengthy URL instead of something really easy to remember and type - and its not always clear how to get to each part of Confluence (different tools)

Great Team Sharing Documentation Software

  • April 28, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to create spaces for a specific project and pages within that space to organize your project documentation. It also has the ability to create templates the team can use to create consistent documentation. The feature to summarize or create dashboards extracting data from the templates is very useful for generating a quick snapshot of the projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
The editing tool is not as robust as I would like. If you have a table within the template, there is a trick for adding rows to keep the format consistent.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use the software to create project documentations with the same template so data can be retrieved to allow executives to have a summarized view of all the projects. Our executives also watch certain documents and receive notifications when changes are made.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great tool for collaboration with revision history and notification of changes. To use the tool effectively, make sure you create templates so you create dashboards using these templates to allow summarized views of the information.

simple and neat way to share your documents

  • April 28, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It is easy to create and share the content among multiple people, teams or even larger organizations. The interface is easy to use. Ability to watch pages and be notified when they’re revised is essential for team collaboration.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although easy to use, the interface doe snot support a lot of options. Sometimes, it s hard to do formatting, but you can find a work around it. Also, I believe that search capabilities could be improved as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly sharing the documents. Eliminating the need to send big documents over e-mail. Easier than shared folders.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend this tool

Confluence for workgroups and collaborative content

  • April 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Maybe the easy setup is one of the key feature and the natural integration with JIRA works fine. It is really easy of use for basic users. The templates for software development teams fits for many kinds of projects with minimun adjustments
What do you dislike about the product?
The way that Confluence manage permissions is very limitated. The template features are really limitated too. The worst is that you can't develop a site templates to reuse them, then you need to rework a lot for special sites, like project management.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We could use a useful knowledge base site to integrate with JIRA Service Desk.
Adding some plugins, we could document project executions and product specs. The simultanusly collaboration feature works really good, then we work on meeting notes and documentation at the same time, even when we are on different places or buildings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
if you need a quick tool to share knowledge and content with less tha 10 groups and you are not thinking in a tool with a lot content features, don't need DRM and items like that, Confluence could be your choice

A mostly average documentation platform

  • April 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to segregate permissions across our user base and enable approval and moderation workflows has been helpful. SSO integration via SAML is very helpful, as was AD sync (if you haven't moved to an SSO solution yet). The selection of 3rd party apps is very impressive.
What do you dislike about the product?
The relative cost of this compared to OSS solutions ultimately makes this more difficult to recommend. If your already investing in Atlassian software for multiple purposes, then this solution will make more sense.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The primary benefits of any team documentation platform will be realized by having a set of standards for team engagement and the right team members in place. A tech solution can't make that happen. If you have people and processes in place, then Confluence is a very competent solution to build out your team's documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Though Confluence is a good solution, look into open source solutions first. Consider AD and SAML integration. Invest in people and processes in place before investing in a new tool. If Atlassian is a new vendor, consider whether you are siloing your data. If they are an existing vendor, you should get some useful integration with their other products. Being a market leader has its advantages; you should be able to find all the integrations you want with other products to build-out your workflows.

The marriage of knowledge base and PM tool

  • April 26, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Our ability to like pages between Confluence and other Atlassian products like service desk and Jira
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of starting from scratch when it came to importing our previous KB articles (even though it was an ideal opportunity to "clean house")
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Level the playing field and when we begin using service desk being able to directly apply article pages to resolutions for our clients.
