What do you like best about the product?
Easy to navigate, useful for documentation
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not as big of a fan of the "Spaces" section, but I just don't use it as much and it's easy to dismiss.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Excellent place to document anything

  • March 28, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating each document and the integration with JIRA
What do you dislike about the product?
Document creation is very basic. More editor functionality is missing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation of each and every conversation at work. Benefits: Managing our documents as they stack up over time. Also, it's easy to search previous documents and easy to tag other team members in order to assign work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You won't realize the benefit in short time. You have to consistently utilize for several months and document everything. You will then realize the importance of knowledge management.

Confluence For Software Development Documentation

  • March 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence provides a virtual collaboration space similar to Wikipedia. It grants collaborators to modify and create documents in spaces they are given permission to. Additionally, it has source control and peer review features supporting historical changes and updates since the document was first created.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence provides a hierarchical tree for documents and for a larger size documentation or collaboration it can be difficult to find the contents or specific document one is looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has been used collaboratively in our team to document our software development progress and product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a great product for team collaboration on documentation or software product control. Highly recommend this product.

Confluence is a great collaboration tool

  • March 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like Confluence is very easy to use, a user doesn't need to understand a lot to start using the tool and take advantage of the documentation that is stored.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like to have a better way to organize the information stored in Confluence. It can get messy once we have a lot of documentation for over the years.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our documentation tool, tracking requirements, meetings, progress, technical documentation and more.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a great tool to keep your team in the loop. It works great for small to medium teams. If you are using JIRA then Confluence is a perfect match. I really like to use both for my projects.

Great Collaboration Space

  • March 26, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great program for a business like ours that has a smaller amount of employees. We're all able to add our projects, see what others are working on, get context on everything going on, comment and have conversations, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence is a fairly cheap software for our smaller team. But, as we may eventually add more employees to our team, the price can be fairly steep to add more users. It can be a bit hard to use if you're not well-versed in the ways of the tech world, so it could be a little more user-friendly. I also would like it if it were easier to organize the folders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In these current times, it's very important to have a program where people can collaborate together, digitally. Confluence may not be as advanced as Sharepoint, but it's great for a smaller team like ours, as mentioned, and it gets the job done. Teams nowadays need to stay very closely connected and be able to work in real time. Confluence enables us to do so, keeps us connected both with chat and with project updates.

Confluence - Engineering Communication Platform

  • March 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is good at providing a platform to communicate solutions and reference past experiences when working on current projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence is bad at showing the most relevant issues to each user. It takes some effort to get to the page you are looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used confluence as an engineering wiki. We also used it to store meeting minutes for later reference.

Confluence review

  • March 25, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use other Atlassian tools so the integration between them is very valuable for us. Confluence at it’s most basic is a simple tool to use with a lot of flexibiliy for displaying various types of content.
What do you dislike about the product?
I work for a small business and the sheer number of features can be overwhelming.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allowed us to centralise documentation and have a collaborative platform to aid project lifecycles.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s a difficult tool to trial as you’ll only see the true benefits of it over the long term. the cloud hosting is very good value for small teams so it’s worth giving it a try (I think prices can rise quickly as you add more people but you’d need to check) but it’ll only be as good as the effort you put in.
