Great for technical group collab who needs seamless linkage to JIRA

  • January 29, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Love the fact that it could be seamlessly linked to Confluence page. If you need to draw diagram a lot or write a lot of codes with a team member, this is the tool for you.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not too intuitive and their UI/UX design could be improved. Doesn't support a lot of marketing needs such as presentation. Two users couldn't edit the page simultaneously, would crash the content.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An internal collaboration platform (ECM) where people can collaborate, share documents, and archive documents.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Recommend for technical teams, not so for Marketing/Communications team.

What do you dislike about the product?
sometimes the changes are not merged when more than 1 person is updating at the same time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it to replace traditional requirement documents

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Reporting, document and team management,

Best content collaboration software

  • January 28, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is content collaboration software that changes how modern teams work. It has a Knowledge base to easily publish, organize, and access information in one central location so one can help their customers help themselves. It also has Team documentation feature which makes it a great tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
Here are dislikes using Confluence for collaborative knowledge management and documentation. It has EXCESSIVE ACCESS RESTRICTIONS, MULTIPLE USERS SHARING ONE ACCOUNT, Cant DISABLING THE COMMENTS FEATURE, NEGLECTING CONFLUENCE UPDATES AND PERFORMANCE and PUTTING EVERYTHING ON ONE PAGE. I wish the cost of the license was less so that more users could be added to the platform free of cost. Other softwares like Jira have a cheaper license and many users can use the software to collaborate and track project management board along with issue management with tickets, epics and integration with repositories like github and email support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great tool for collaboration and having all information present at one place for easy access for customers and users.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a better tool and more suited to the needs. Very happy with the features in the product. Would 100% recommend to others

Workspace collaboration

What do you like best about the product?
Great for wikis and other collaborative information sharing. Also great for JIRA linkages. Gliffy is handy for wireframes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pasting table rows is more difficult than it should be. I also think that it is rather pricey, especially as it becomes pricier as companies grow. Finally, self-hosting creates its own technical problems and requirements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps a lot with technical collaboration, and it is really easy to use for what it is. I don't think we'd get as much out of it without the ease of template usage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just be aware that you'll need in-house support, and be mindful that its price is subject to balloon as your company grows (especially if you're a small company).

Documenting but not collaborating

  • January 28, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is for documenting information and sharing it with others. It's more for information that isn't constantly changing.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not for collaborating with multiple users and can sometimes be confusing on how it sorts files. I also dislike the formatting options and feel it is limiting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Collaborative Documentation for Distributed Teams

  • January 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has allowed our team to have living internal documentation no matter where we are. As a fully distributed team, we have been able to provide live updates to the entire team when internal processes are updated. The notification updates and activity tracking are superb and keep our team in the know and up to date.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes, depending on personal preference, the updates and notifications can be a little much. It's great to know when an update is made, but constant notifications of minor changes can be a little much. Also, to a novice, the interface is not overly intuitive. I wouldn't mind seeing a refresh and usability update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has been invaluable for keeping our team updated on internal processes and how-tos.
