What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
collaborate on documents
The market leader in team collaboration software
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence provides a wealth of diversity in the functional capabilities able to be brought to bear by your team. This is not a tool only for software engineers - anyone working in a collaborative environment can benefit from the workspace that Confluence provides. Confluence provides a single point of truth for product, project, program, and portfolio management that is easy to extend to operational handoff and document retention strategy, as well as ongoing schedule management and feature backlog. Confluence also integrates seamlessly with other Atlassian tools, particularly JIRA, making it a great central hub for all of the activities of the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence has a somewhat steeper learning curve than is probably necessary for its most valuable features. It would benefit from some more user-friendly plugins and a better way to add new functionality from the community. Many new users to Confluence are coming from having relied heavily on Microsoft Office products for a long time, so additional features that could replicate some of the more common functionality of Microsoft PowerPoint, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Project would go a long way in helping new users more familiar with these tools to understand the true value of Confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence extensively across our software and product engineering teams. Generally, Confluence is used to communicate project status, collaborate on engineering problems, and for the documentation of business critical user guides and architecture documents. Confluence helps us ensure that the work being done by all of our resources is maintained in a consistent format, and is easily searchable and retained (with version control!).
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would highly recommend using Confluence at any organization, or even for personal projects. It can be scaled to fit whatever team size is needed, and its functionality can be extended in a number of ways as required. I would recommend working with someone from a consulting perspective who can help to provide guidance on how best to use Confluence for the work you are doing on a day-to-day basis.
Searching Function Could Be Better
What do you like best about the product?
Great as a wiki and for documentation use
What do you dislike about the product?
The searching function pulls everything and anything, doesn't provide results by relevance
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great as a wiki
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great as a wiki
Corporate wikipedia for different audiences
What do you like best about the product?
The side bars, the editing and versioning capability, and the image embedding/attachment functions. Recommended updates digest emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be unintuitive for a new user (when a user is added to an organization) to navigate about the site and understand what functionality he/she has access to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to commit to writing a lot of information and knowledge uncovered by development teams as they built and tested features.
We were also able to publish product administration guides to our customers that were available on the web and easy to update.
We were also able to publish product administration guides to our customers that were available on the web and easy to update.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider making all your users take some amount of training before throwing them into Confluence
Share all the knowledge!
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence allows my team to share knowledge about various topics in one place. The organization capabilities are great too, to make it even easier to find different documentation as needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation is a little tricky to use sometimes. Without streamlined organization of topics, it can be a lot of clicking to find the right page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's basically allowed our team to create various onboarding documents for any new employees that join and to help each other by providing references for the most common topics we deal with each day.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool for sharing information within a team. It allows you to organize all information in one place that is accessible by anyone, anywhere.
Great Organizational Tool
What do you like best about the product?
How you are able to create different how to pages for everyone to reference
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the UI was a little easier to navigate on first look through. It takes a while to get used to the way to properly navigate different pages
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication and Informational
Knowledge Base Powered by Jira
What do you like best about the product?
This has so much power behind it with the JIRA platform. Being able to link different articles to tasks in your JIRA projects has been extremely useful. Also the ability to link articles to helpdesk tickets has provides our users with the ability to self-help rather than having to reach out to support.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like all things JIRA, it takes a bit of learning to figure out how to do things. It's a complicated and complex tool and isn't for the faint of heart. If you're willing to put in the time and effort, though, it's worth it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A centralized database of our different knowledgebase articles that are easily navigated to and provide great information to our employees.

What do you dislike about the product?
The dashboard can get a bit too crowded which can cause a lot of more confusion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Confluence Is A Fantastic Wiki- when it works
What do you like best about the product?
Anything management posts is right there.
What do you dislike about the product?
Haven’t been able to access in months. I lost access randomly and my company has been working to restore it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence allows me to see what management has posted, as far as latest software downloads, team statistics, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Pricing can be a bit much, but if you’re a large volume company with a lot of revenue, it’s worth the investment.
