Confluence Works
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great application for creating and sharing documents across the enterprise and among different co-workers in any dept.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it may be quite hard to find what you are looking for. Often old docs get hidden in folders that are no longer active. This can be quite frustrating.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is a great application for creating and sharing documents across the enterprise and among different co-workers in any dept. We have release schedules, how to articles, engineering specs, beta sites, pretty anything that needs to be tracked / shared.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence works well if you need to create and share documents across the company and among different people and departments. You can use it to share and store almost anything from excel to word, no matter what the use - schedules, articles, specs, project sites, pretty much anything that needs to be tracked / shared. It also alerts you when stuff you are tracking is modified.
It's a good corporate wikie
What do you like best about the product?
It's just a wiki for your company. Better than MS SharePoint to share your ideas.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of graph / drawing / UML features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
knowledge sharing
Good Resource Hub
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a good place to keep track of documents and allow many users to collaborate on various projects, proposals, tutorials and client reporting and anything else your company uses. It's very helpful for standard documents that many people need to reference.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface has a slight learning curve as with anything. The naming conventions can be a little odd but after you've used it for a while you start to understand where and what things are called.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence for How-To documents, client reporting and contracts and updates on project timelines so that all these can be referenced by anyone within the company at any given time.
Confluence review
What do you like best about the product?
I like that it is user friendly and very easy to search.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little overwhelming depending on the number of people contributing to a page
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to create a knowledgebase (our interanl wiki page)
Effective tool, a bit cumbersome UI
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy for people to collaborate on articles and share knowledge. We use it to house procedures and resources for our teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is cumbersome and the search could be improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making sure data is shared effectively across large teams and throughout the company.
Very hard to organize information and key word search needs work
What do you like best about the product?
That it allows you to add links and can host large files
What do you dislike about the product?
The key search tool is just too broad and makes it very hard to locate information quickly. If you don't know how information is categorized good luck finding it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Attempted to use this as a knowledge share space, ultimately this did not solve our issue but that may be more user error rather than the product
A powerful, customisable package that may be more than you need
What do you like best about the product?
We use other Atlassian tools so the integration between them is very valuable for us. Confluence at it’s most basic is a simple tool to use with a lot of flexibiliy for displaying various types of content. We were easily able to set up knowledge centres or simple task lists. Being able to watch pages and be notified when they’re revised is essential for team collaboration.
I’m a fan of the new interface they recently launched, it makes the service more approachable and exposes key functionality.
I’m a fan of the new interface they recently launched, it makes the service more approachable and exposes key functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
We use the hosted Cloud service and whilst not terribly slow there can be some delays at times. I also had some frustrations with formatting content but most were resolved with some care. I work for a small business and the sheer number of features can be overwhelming. Be they general use, set up of spaces and pages, or administration of the platform itself - there is a lot to take in which may be better suited to larger businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allowed us to centralise documentation and have a collaborative platform to aid project lifecycles.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s a difficult tool to trial as you’ll only see the true benefits of it over the long term. the cloud hosting is very good value for small teams so it’s worth giving it a try (I think prices can rise quickly as you add more people but you’d need to check) but it’ll only be as good as the effort you put in.
Full featured site and basic app platform
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to control access to sites and build out basic apps and scripts within Confluence
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be daunting to maintain content and explore many spaces in the tool
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Intranet type content sharing in a structured navigable tool
Easy to use for lots of information but sometimes struggle with broken links
What do you like best about the product?
We use confluence to house lots of technical documentation for implementations, business processes etc. I like that it is in a blog form so that any type of info and attachments can be used. I also like that it's clean and relatively easy to navigate.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because it can house so much information, it's sometimes really daunting to navigate and i depend on bookmarked direct links to get to the content that i need. I feel like the search function could be much better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing large files in a secure way. Outlining business processes.
This helps a lot of back and forth with emails -- we are able to direct each other to a confluence page.

Great enterprise wiki solution
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence offers a simple-to use interface to an enterprise wiki service. Non-technical users pick it up very quickly once they spend even a little time working with it. It is easy-to-navigate and provides a great place for teams to work on information collaboratively.
What do you dislike about the product?
We had to roll our own solution for lifecycle management of wiki spaces in order to keep track of which spaces are still active and needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence allows users to quickly get collaborating with colleagues and creating content without the overhead required for other services like SharePoint.
