Confluence helps in organizing your team and colaboration
What do you like best about the product?
I like the gadgets that you can add on a Confluence page. Gadgets allow you to provide real time information on initiatives and projects, pages are not static list other products. There is a great menu that is automatically created when building a space which make it easy for users to navigate. Building pages is easy with predefined templates and page formatting that does not require programming.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence pages are sometime a little slow to display. Depending on the number of gadgets or are mini-applets which build independently you sometimes need to wait for it to load.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to organize my team. Group meetings, project approval templates, risk analysis and a high level view for those outside the group. While not a project management system it provides many of the same features that you would need to manage projects and highlight issues as they they arise. Collaboration with different teams had been a challenge but using Confluence allows us to poll teams for approvals and reaching consensus on projects and issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Confluence for those who are looking for a collaboration tool. It works best when used with JIRA issue management software. Confluence allows for a quick build for your team and also allows you to display updated project details based on your normal workflow. When using gadgets your Confluence pages are automated and display updated content to your team and company.
Our central tool for sharing architectural documents
What do you like best about the product?
With Atlassian Confluence, we create and share using a rich content editor hosted in a web browser, architecture documents. We can olso write a several kind of information like project plans, or meeting notes.
The content is organized arround spaces et pages, witch include differents kind of support (text, graphics, etc.). Everybody can contribute by writing a inline comment about a file or page or asking for more details about a subject.
The hierarchical structure of pages keep the infrormation organized as well as accessible.
This tool help us to centralize informations witch was lost in several places (shared folders, emails, document bases, etc.)
We created spaces didecated to applications, and for each project we created a new version. We reuse or update existing artfacts or create a new ones if it is necessary. Differents teams can share and paricipate on the inline works.
When the current version is finalized, it becomes official, and it is visible to everyone.

What do you dislike about the product?
If you want to complete this tool with other compatible adding from confluence marketplace, you must be care about your choice.
Backtracking may be impossible or very difficult. Some adding are not free and some are better than others.

Without confluence, versioning of architectural documents was difficult. The reuse of the artifacts was manual, and the sharing was not satisfactory. Now information is organized, shared and collaboration is effective.

Ease of finding documents. Tagging people helps but notifications are bad.

No/Difficult for versioning documents . NOtifications are very easy to miss.

Very easy to create pages and add content. I like the formatting capabilities; adding tables, headérs, changing CPI.

It's difficult to find other team's pages even when you have exact page titles.
