Useful for documentation for all projects and releases
What do you like best about the product?
Its really easy to use and also advanced with security provided in it. You can write quickly, insert tables, create diagrams in it very easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
While creating diagrams, it doesn't support more flexibility
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documenting all the use cases, requirements, troubleshooting related points for each and every project. Creating child pages for sub projects and tracking them is very easy through search box.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely go for it. Useful for long term and easy to use with lot of advance options to explore except than just documentation.
Great resource for organization
What do you like best about the product?
The malleable ability to post, track, and organize documentation across teams. From calendars, to specs, procedural documentation, and style-guide type documents, this is a great web based resource.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes navigation can be a bit tricky for new users, but you get used to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping teams on the same page organizationally, we as a team are all in the know when it comes to best practices when we can place the documentation in a familiar location.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Establish best practices and keep your resource clean from unrelated and outdated information.
Great Collaborative Software for a team
What do you like best about the product?
collaborate on all levels, share with co-workers, get feedback. Post lots of documents and update changes. You can get lots of feedback and send regular updates without disturbing work.. Great customer service. Highly useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
can be overwhelming and sometimes hard to find what you need to edit. Can easily subscribe to updates you may not really need. lots of emails. Customization can be tough. Very basic and bland UI. It is an expensive software to invest in as a small start up company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving team projects in order to collaborate on projects to get work done and meet deadlines. Collaboration. Also our company is small and doesn't have an internal intranet or an HR page so I use Confluence as our HR page to post policies and information. this has been very helpful for our employees. Working on projects and seeing timelines is very productive in order to meet deadlines and help customers. Use for planning and timelines and completing sprints and testing. Helpful for sharing work and getting feedback. Use for communication across multiple teams and develop better programs and helpful systems
Recommendations to others considering the product:
be patient in learning the process, figure it out, what works best for you and your team to collaborate effectively. There is a lot to learn. start with the basics of what your needs are first. explore and then add more. use your team to work together
Great for Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is really easy to use and share with others.
What do you dislike about the product?
Perhaps the only thing I dont really care for about Confluence is that only Admins can create spaces.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We switched from Sharepoint to Confluence to have KB articles, and articles in general. It's MUCH easier and friendlier to use, and you can create some really great looking pages. And organizing pages is also a breeze.
Very useful tool in your Agile environment
What do you like best about the product?
How easily team can collaborate on the documents and share insights. Much better integrated than SharePoint. It does help if you have all the teams move to one solution. In our case we used grass root approach and it worked, however not all the teams have adopted this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
So far nothing. we do have a security concern about how much private information can be posted there.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documents sharing, knowledge base, retro notes
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It helps if all the teams move to this product to get the maximum out of it
Good Place to Share Work
What do you like best about the product?
We are able to share our final approved drafts in a space that all can get to it.
What do you dislike about the product?
I know there are advanced features that I am not using. I also wish it was easier to edit tables.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it as a place to archive our files, update project deadlines in a table and others are using it to update stories for an agile project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
There are a lot of features, so training is very important.
Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to have all policies in procedures in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Freezing and that unless confluence is opened certain links are unable to be viewed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing different promotions and policies.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely give it a try.
Extensive, but a little inflexible
What do you like best about the product?
fairly user friendly but still professional. It's macros and integrations are a huge plus as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Easy to get lost in all the layers, hierarchies, and relationships. Everything looks the same.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation and resource content creation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get yourself set up in a clean and comprehensive way first and don't get carried away with all the other things it can do, too early on. You want a good foundation.
Confluence is a solid tool for distributed teams, works on mobile platforms as well
What do you like best about the product?
1. I believe it is the best team collaboration software out there. Confluence is a great product for our software engineering company.
2. Works great for our multiple development teams to collaborate effectively across geographic boundaries.
3. Confluence integrates seamlessly and easily when combined with Atlassian's JIRA system and provides all of the missing features that JIRA lacks. We use JIRA already and Confluence was a great addition to our tool set.
4. Simple to set up and use. End users do not need much training at all especially if they were already utilizing JIRA. For our end users it was easy for them to learn and adopt; even our companies new employees were able to be up and running and collaborating quickly.
5. Simple application to administrate when using the cloud based edition; it was very easy to on-board the tool.
6. Great wiki/knowledge base for our software engineering company.
7. Our companies Project Managers, Software Engineers, and IT Administrators rate it highly and all seem to enjoy the features. It is hard to find that combination in a collaboration system between those different types of employees that are utilizing it every day.
8. Contains high level of functions.
9. Has a very good community to be able to reach.
10. The solution works great on mobile platforms as well due to the nature of being cloud based; our company uses the cloud based edition of the product.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. It can be a bit slow to access at times for us as we have the cloud based edition.
2. Be cautious of third party add-ons/plug-ins as some plug-ins can tie you to specific versions of Confluence. In addition to that support for those add-ons/plug-ins is not provided directly by Atlassian but by the third party developers of those items.
3. Confluence add-ons/plug-ins are cloud based, if using the cloud edition of Confluence like we do, and due to the nature of the add-ons/plug-ins being cloud based can be tricky to fix/repair and do require the support of the third party developer of those addon-on/plug-ins.
4. Support can be hard to reach at times due to different zones.
5. It is becoming somewhat bloated as of late. I think that it has lost some strength as it tries to solve larger problems than it was originally built for.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation and project management activities as well as cross collaboration between team members.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is recommended to try out the cloud edition first to make sure it fits your environment. There may be cheaper options out there but after testing a few different solutions I believe Confluence to be the best solution currently available for the cost.
