Crowdsource & centralize your organization's knowledge

What do you like best about the product?
As a web-based tool, Confluence allows an organization to easily organize and maintain its knowledge and intellectual resources in a central place. As staff come and go, processes evolve, or new technologies are implemented, Confluence provides a valuable tool for an organization to track and support change management and knowledge transition.
What do you dislike about the product?
Although Confluence offers a great deal of widgets to customize the look and content, the tool does not have a particularly robust HTML editor, which can be frustrating for power users who want to format the layout of the page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence allows our organization to document how to use software for academic and administrative purposes as well as specific tasks, processes, procedures, etc. within the greater campus community. Not only has this benefited our faculty, staff, and students, but we find that our resources have been cited and used by others outside the university. Confluence also allows us to provide self-service resources that can be used during non-business hours, which help our users help themselves.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence can be used for more than just technical documentation. Encourage departments to use Confluence to document frequently asked questions in a central organizational resource rather than piece-mealed on separate websites. Confluence also has privacy settings, so it's great for documenting internal processes and procedures and restricting access.

What do you like best about the product?
Confluent allows you to store update maintain and track data.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't really ran into anything I dislike except I've subscribed to a lot of updates from different departments and receive a lot of emails which I can't get through in one day.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're able to store information that everybody can share to ensure no one is working on the same thing.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that Confluence can get your ideas down in a shared space where everyone (or select people) can view it and contribute.
What do you dislike about the product?
The formatting is not always the best. It is difficult to get the pages to format properly. There should be shortcuts and easy to copy + paste things into a page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to make company-wide announcements and share news with everyone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's great for a company that has different departments that work together. It's great for collaboration.

What do you like best about the product?
My colleagues and I use Confluence mainly to display/share Tableau dashboards. Confluence makes it very easy to integrate Tableau into pages
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve can be a bit steep but overall, I've found this easier to use than SharePoint
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence makes it very easy to share various KPIs (via Tableau dashboards) with colleagues in our department

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use. Linkage with Jira. Customizable reports and queries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Versioning option, or option to see history.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have been using Confluence as an alternative to traditional repositories and reporting tools. Benefits:
1. Direct integration with Jira
2. A good way to store and update live documents so they don't become obsolete
3. Good place to store and display reports which can be updated through Jira queries, making them live real-time reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use its features out of the box, especially if you are using Jira too.

What do you like best about the product?
Whenever a teammate makes any updates, we get notified. It has saved me many hours by keeping me on the same page.
What do you dislike about the product?
The navigation between different sections might be a little easier. At this moment it's not bad, just looks a little complex sometimes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We regularly update our database security. In my job, I have to run the database in order to provide updated product to the clients. Confluence helps me stay in sync with the tech team. I am able to put in bug reports and requests or edits very easily as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are a non-techi person who needs to stay in sync with the tech department, then this tool is for you.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that as the name states, this is a program that is a professional, social space where people can shares ideas in an organized fashion.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search tool does not provide specific search results, even though the filtering feature helps to alleviate that.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Software as a system company. We use confluence to materialize ideas, updates, best practices and SOPs for all departments to use.
