What do you like best about the product?
That it's a shared place for your company to disseminate information
What do you dislike about the product?
-It just doesn't feel very fast compared to other document sharing sites (Google docs)
-The UI is starting to feel more modern but it's like lipstick on a pig
-It still follows a fairly strict of information hierarchy, which makes it feel clunky
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
-Disseminating information

Digital place to store notes, ideas, documents

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is relatively easy to use for anyone new to using the product. It's like a place to create, save, and view many documents, instead of having to access a shared drive.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how hard it is to search for keywords. I think Confluence should introduce some new filters to make finding what you are looking for easier. I also wish there was a homepage or dashboard feature to let you quickly go back to something you worked on or a page of yours that was just edited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We mainly use Confluence as a place to document ongoing discussions and decisions that need to be made. We also at artifacts and discovery/research items as a an easy, accessible place where everyone in tech has access to at least view.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would say you should come up with best practices for using Confluence and for labeling new pages/sections. It would make it much easier to search and find old notes and documentation when looking for it in the future.

Great Place to Keep Information Company-wide

  • December 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence really keeps our company connected. Rather than having to reach out to stakeholders of a certain department or project, Confluence gives you the ability to find information on your own. It also allows us to collaborate with the team, each from our own computers.
What do you dislike about the product?
In my opinion, the part that could use the biggest upgrade is the search feature. It helps to structure your account correctly to make it easy to navigate, but sometimes you just need to search for information in your Confluence account. When I do search, it seems that the relevant information is a page or two away.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're collaborating more than ever before across multiple timelines, and giving our employees a place to store resources and important information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software that empowers employees to use their resources and collaborate. Recommend.

Easy and secure for company materials

  • December 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence gives our company access to any files, folder, and proprietary information that we might need, at any given time. It's great for keeping all records up-to-date and not using old and dated files. Additionally, it's great for team collaboration on larger projects, that's accessible to the given team, but can delegate who has access to these files. I specifically like the versioning.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don't like about Confluence is how hard it is to find information. It takes multiple clicks to get anywhere, which is frustrating. The search tool is hard to define, there should be a better way to organize these files and search for them without having to dig through other projects and teams. For versioning, it could show a better interface for what has previously been worked on versus what is currently being worked on.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence gives the company a central location to hold all information that is very secure. For team collaboration, it also allows the company to update materials to everyone, so there is not old information floating around. Unlike GDrive, which gets messy and has a hard time separating data for projects and teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend keeping files organized from the start. Definitely create a system for naming folders, teams, files, etc. Because it's meant to be able to allow anyone at the company to be able to access these assets, it's only useful if they are able to locate them quickly in the system.

Confluence – interactive template for company intranet

  • December 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to customize pages in Confluence and have them reflect your company's brand – you can create a great knowledge base using this tool.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's not necessarily user-friendly and intuitive, and can seem complex to somebody trying to create pages for the first time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're creating a searchable, intranet-like knowledge base for customer support agents around the globe to use in order to get answers to questions they may have on specific customer issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would make sure you complete a crash course in using Confluence if you're going to try to create blog posts or documentation with it. Once you know how to use it, it's easy, but it can be tricky to learn at first!

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence search feature is quite nice. Even when searching word docs or PDFs that have been uploaded they can easily be founds. I also like the way you can organize different layouts and systems.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is used as a team wiki for our organization. We use it to create wikis and other organization in the company.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure that you have a technical person familiar with the system.
