Tier-1 Monitoring and RCA Using Confluence
What do you like best about the product?
1.Centralized Knowledge Base:
All Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were stored and maintained in one place. No guesswork — everyone had access to the same procedures for consistent analysis making it easy to implement.
2. Consistent and Repeatable Processes:
Confluence ensured that every analyst followed the same diagnostic protocol. Reduced the risk of errors or missteps during high-pressure production incidents. Since it was a guide book for Analysts, it was frequently used.
3. Efficient Cross-Team Communication:
SOPs in Confluence included escalation paths, telling you which team to forward issues to. Avoided delays and misrouted tickets during troubleshooting.
4. Live Updates & Collaborative Editing:
You could edit or create new SOPs as new sensors or systems were introduced. Easy to keep documentation current as infrastructure evolved.
5.Transparency & Audit Trail:
Changes to SOPs were version-controlled and documented. Helped in compliance and continuous improvement discussions.

What do you dislike about the product?
1. Search Limitations:
Confluence’s built-in search at times were slow or inaccurate, especially when SOPs are long or nested under multiple page levels.
2.Outdated or Inconsistent SOPs:
If teams forget to update the SOPs after changes in infrastructure or tooling, the docs can became misleading or obsolete.
3.Poor Page Organization:
With SOPs for every team, Confluence spaces can become cluttered with redundant or poorly tagged pages, making navigation confusing.
4.Permissions Delays
Sometimes, you need to request access or wait on others to approve changes, which slows down documentation improvements

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We used Atlassian Confluence as a centralized knowledge management and collaboration tool especially in our Tier-1 production analysis workflows at Afiniti. We followed well-documented Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) stored in Confluence for investigating system alerts and sensor anomalies. When dealing with new or updated sensors, we wrote and edited SOPs directly in Confluence to keep the knowledge base up to date for the entire team. The pages also helped us streamline cross-team collaboration by clearly stating which team each issue needed to be escalated to. Working with Confluence not only sharpened my attention to detail and documentation discipline, but also taught me the importance of process standardization and knowledge sharing in high-availability environments.
An excellent tool for creating documentation for video games.

It's a necessity for large teams where there's a lot of documentation, and it needs to be made accessible, convenient, and easy to understand.
A must-have for internal documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence keeps our team on the same page, literally. Having one central space for all our info makes a huge difference, since it keeps things organized without making a mess of folders or Google Docs.
It scales really well too: you can start with basic notes, but over time it grows into a more structured space where all teams can easily collaborate and find what they need.
A bonus is that it plays really well with Jira, which makes linking projects and updates very easy.

What do you dislike about the product?
It’s not the flashiest tool - the editor feels a bit clunky at times, and finding old pages isn’t always intuitive. But if you mostly care about documentation and general organization, Confluence gets the job done.
Solid, reliable, and essential!

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is the central place we use to document everything (e.g., product specs, campaign/launch plans, onboarding docs, internal processes). Our teams can work more independently without asking around for links or digging through folders. It saves time, and keeps everyone aligned. Having it as a single source of truth is very important for transparency and collaboration too.

A Great Companion to Jira for Documentation and Team Collaboration
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence integrates very well with Jira, making it easy to link documentation with specific tasks or issues. I especially like how we can create detailed meeting notes, product requirement pages, and internal wikis in one place. The collaborative editing feature allows multiple team members to contribute in real-time, which is a big productivity booster. It’s clean, organized, and helps reduce reliance on scattered documents or emails.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helps us centralize all our documentation — from project plans and technical specs to meeting notes and internal guides in one easily accessible place. Before Confluence, documentation was scattered across multiple tools and folders, making it hard to find and keep updated. Now, everything is organized, searchable, and collaborative
