Useful features but not very intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to collaborate with colleagues and document ideas/projects/planning
What do you dislike about the product?
Finding the icon/feature you are looking for is hard. Difficult to track changes/comment on others' work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project planning.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Harder to collaborate than on google docs, for example.
Great for team notes, not too searchable/organizeable
What do you like best about the product?
I love that we can real time collaborate with an Account Team for call notes. Love being able to embed Google Docs as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
Search function and organization is not optimal. I also use Evernote for note taking and prefer to take my initial notes there. I can organize my notes in their own notebooks - and I wish that there were better options for taking notes in Confluence when I don't want to create an entire new page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Shared customer space. Internal place to have access to at-a-glace customer entitlements, call notes and more.
Great tool for collaboration within the team for documentation
What do you like best about the product?
The best part is that its much better than other document sharing tools and is very cost efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing really to dislike in the product however it can be made little more intuative.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using confluence as a tool for document control. I am a JIRA Administrator and use confluence extensively in all our projects.

Very easy to use.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how everything can be organized into certain groups and easily identifiable based on how we want to organize. It's pretty easy to maintain, but some things are a little tricky to find. The editing function is really easy to use, but it is also basic functionality so I would say it's not for those who are looking to do a lot in their editing functions. However those new to confluence will be able to pick up that editing easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had the option for more visually appealing layouts and designs. Ours is very basic and doesn't have a lot of color to it. Also, sometimes it's hard to see how to tie pages together, etc, or to add multiple photos into a page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easily organized system for employees to find answers to the questions they need. Basic, but laid out how we need it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you want to put the effort in to organize your items.

What do you dislike about the product?
There is no way to link issues right from 'Edit' page in Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great Wiki Software for Remote Teams!

I like integration with Jira and macroses, internal search, diagrams and charts.

Doesn't have BPMN drawing as basic functionality. Also, there are issues with text and table formatting.

* fully fledged product within Atlassian, which is great if you utilize the Atlassian product suite already.
* great plugin additions to add in easy graphics and diagrams where words do not suffice.

* structure - it's hard to know how to use across all teams/areas and it would be best if there was an onboarding process for an account to setup how they want documentation to look for select PROJECTS, as an example, and that would make it easy for all users.
* interface is not obvious at first glance and takes some getting used to and continual training for the intended outcome.

What do you like best about the product?
First off, it is great to use a tool that is version controlling documentation; trying to keep a version in a folder on a server always has been difficult to upkeep especially when a number of different users access the same files at the same time. Confluence gives one the ability to keep track of that without
What do you dislike about the product?
Starting out the configuration of the site took more time than I had realized. With the ability to customize so many things, it took some time to have it completely understood as the documentation, though it was there, didn't lend itself to be completely user-friendly at all times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the biggest reasons was we were having difficulties trying to keep a version of technical documentation in a folder on a server always has been difficult. Especially the upkeep when a number of different users access the same files at the same time. Confluence solved this issue by giving us a collaborative tool that solved this issue for us. Also, trying to come up with a documentation file structure that everyone understood is difficult. It is very hard to understand the intention of one person's navigation of these folders over another. This way we had a tool that gave us easy access via search.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a tool that integrates with the other Atlassian products, this is the tool for you. It is great to be able to link service tickets with documentation automatically without using extra or other tools to accomplish this. If you haven't used the Atlassian products, this is a great step toward the right product stack used in a developer environment.
Great Collaboration and Requirements Gathering Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The default template is usable. It works for simpler requirements. Adding or modifying templates is also very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of workflow design capability. We would like the ability to create workflows and user stories from within Confluence.

Solved: Documenting business requirements clearly.
