Seems like the standard these days for wikis

  • July 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Good for collaboration. Easy to do simple wiki pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Permissioning is tricky when there are nested permissions between child and parent pages.
Wish there were better options for creating nicer-looking pages.
Also wish there were better spreadsheet handling options.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team wikis for requirements and project schedules
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for simple wiki creation and collaboration. Not great for complex document creation. Spreadsheet/table functionality pretty limited, though there may be macros that help. They recently also added Google-docs like features where you can see who else is editing at the same time to avoid collisions, which is very helpful.

Great for Team Projects

  • July 12, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great tool for teams to utilize when working on team projects and cross-functional workstreams. My favorite feature is the tagging feature. This allows particiapants to notify any key players when there is a task or point they should be aware of.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence has so many features and options to be used to satisfy the needs of any project style, which is great. However, this also means there is a great amount of training and alignment necessary in order for teams to effectively use it the way the team intends for it to be used.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is allowing my cross-functional team and I to collaborate on a large enterprise project. We don't all physically work in the same location, nor do we have aligned schedules. Confluence allows us to stay engaged, informed, and productive without having to all be in the same place at the same time.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Confluence is linked to JIRA. It's great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how we had to remove every document we uploaded because Confluence is not supposed to house documents apparently.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're trying to ensure that all of our stakeholders have access to Confluence so they can see our team members, the team mission, and other information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would share your team mission, and DEFINITELY use the confluence calendar to reduce outlook email overload.

How we use Confluence in out firm

  • July 11, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use confluence as blogging tool. We need to create services for our clients. These services have unique identification number and many other properties. Whenever we need to get details of the service, its hard to go into the service and look for the detail. Confluence has made this task easy. What we do is, we have shared page which is editable by a group of people. Whenever we create new service, we enter details about the service into this confluence page. So we can go into the confluence when we require to see the details of the service. This has made things really very easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
One thing I dislike about confluence is, changes made are immediately reflected. There is no verification process. I feel that there should be some verification process so that to ensure that the changes made are correct. This should be at least a process which involves two people. One person changes the content and other person verifies that changes made.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I stated above, I am using confluence as blogging where we create pages with information which we require to access frequently.

Talking about the benefits, the process has made the access to the information easy, efficient in terms to time.

Confluence Review

  • July 10, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Functionality and organization. Ability for cross collaboration throughout an organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice to have some Office functions, i.e. formulas.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization/tracking of projects. Documenting SOP's, project status, and central location for reports.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Robust solution, that will help with organization, transparency, and breaking down silos.

It's OK, relatively easy to use

  • July 10, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that our team can all collaboratively update, and it has worked well for our weekly status meetings. We can include our updates individually, and then it's also easy to access meeting notes from past weeks. It's nice to access things here instead of digging for them on our server or within other tools we use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love the calendar capabilities and updates. I also find it a bit challenging to navigate, at times. I feel like I know how to access the things that I frequently access but not much else.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I think the problem we are having is ultimately deciding which service/system to use. Currently, we use multiple services/systems, and our information/documents seem to be scattered, making it difficult to know where to access things. If we were to all make a final decision to use Confluence only, then we'd likely reap more benefits. Currently, I do think it has streamlined our weekly status communication and made it somewhat easy to refer back to old notes and topics.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'm not familiar with many other similar software options, but Confluence is definitely one to consider

Confusing

  • July 10, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Being able to have all the information in one place
What do you dislike about the product?
Confusing to use, to find things. It's also hard to navigate when you're trying to create a page, it'll be much easier if the editing buttons emulated excel.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Repository.

a good tool to share info

  • July 09, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This tool is very good for product documentation whatever you target to do both internal or external usage.
I very much like the fact that this tool can be used for both documentation, knowledge sharing but also specification
Using this tool instead of a common space on network or even on gdrive is good for specification or documentation, especially because you can version it and it is more or less like a book.
SSO with google is really handy on a daily usage.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first, this was not an easy task to write nice shaped documents at start but with some practice and time, you can do really nice things with really nice presentation.
Another drawback, I think, is the fact that it is not easily to reach if you are not at work and not loggued (this can sounds stupid but this is actually not)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Thanks to confluence, we can share, gather and communicate both documentations and informations on all our projects.
We have one single place where we can find all info we need.
We can share knowledge
We have reduced the number of tool to only one single tool
So we sped more time answering to the question "where can i find the info" because answer is now obvious.
Best benefit to me s the fact that people can find all needed info on any project / product without even asking
Recommendations to others considering the product:
train before use it
Also explain to people why it is good and that time investment at the beginning has actually strong R.O.I
