Flexible and elegant knowledge base
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is easy to learn and easy to use. Very intuitive interface, thousands of plugins and macros, syntax highlighting, auto index and many more allows you to create beautiful documentation quickly. Native jira integration, centralise identify management (Active Directory support) make it easy to work with many different types of teams/organisations.

Lack of support for oracle 11g database in newer versions.

It's worth every $ especially if your are already using Jira.
Not intuitive

It was a great place to document everything needed for a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
It was not very intuitive or user-friendly and definitely felt all over the place
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a place to document all pieces of a project, have conversations about those pieces are solved. There is the space to organize with Confluence.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get organized with structure from the get-go. That'll make a difference.
A wonderful place to throw all that documentation
What do you like best about the product?
I love how it's easy to group items, share data, and streamline everything into one area.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes more recently, when using Confluence it has been slow and will be non-responsive as JIRA reported issues. They usually resolve this within the hour or two.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The overwhelming sharing of Google Docs. Before we would upload to a shared drive and could not collaborate or view up-to-date information.
Useful but difficult to navigate

What do you dislike about the product?
It's difficult to navigate at times and search for articles
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use it for internal documentation

It works well for any kind of documentation. With a better search and a slightly cleaner interface it would be amazing.
A useful wiki tool for meeting notes and project requirements
What do you like best about the product?
This tool is very customizable and easily shareable. It gives you a great deal of flexibility in creating the pages and their links together.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customization options are great to enter in content but there is little flexibility in how it looks and feels. It should strive to emulate word processing customization standards that exist in MS office suite document creators.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is a great space to collaborate on documents and notes. It provides a lot of value by keeping our documentation transparent and visible to people within our team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider looking at the documentation provided by Atlassian. They're pretty great about providing some helpful information on how to set things up and how to better use the system.

Confluence is definitely worth a look when considering a collaboration tool. It offers a robust set of features at a reasonable price.
Powerful Wiki
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great tool for documenting project requirements, meetings, and progress reports. Confluence can be a simple out-of-the-box solution or you can add on a number of plug-ins to improve what you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Uploading files to confluence is clunky and not user friendly. The files that are uploaded can be added in-line, but it does not look good. I believe that Confluence could greatly improve this functionality to better integrate uploaded files and view these files.
Adding in plug-ins and assigning settings to those can be difficult to accomplish and limited in what changes you can make.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence integrates very well with Jira to allow for you to easily create a ticket while documenting something, see a list of all of your tickets, and track at a high level your progress of these tickets.
I also like to use Confluence to save code snippets that I use over and over without changing much. Confluence formats the code nicely and highlights keywords based on the language you are writing with.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think Confluence is a great tool if you are looking to store common knowledge documents and keep track of project status. Confluence is not a good tool if you are looking for multiple people to edit a document at the same time, if you wish to upload documents into your space, or if you wish to keep track of versions of an edited document.
