Helpful

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to search through a wikipedia of my company. I've learned a lot just by reading through different pages my colleagues add to the database.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could get even more exact with my search. It would be helpful to have more options as to where you're searching or key terms.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a new employee, I rely on Confluence heavily to do my job. I can look up everything from payroll calendar to our in-house library. It helps me find info I need fast.

Good innovative documentation and collaboration platform for the post-Word generation

  • June 28, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Teams and information workers that get a demo of Confluence Wiki are enthousiastic about all the smart features and the power of Confluence.
People find it refreshing that the wiki pages are organized in a tree structure, plus the fact that the tree can dynamically grow and that pages can be moved and renamed without breaking links between the pages.
Also, it's possible to export your page tree or part of it to PDF (or Word) so that you can publish/ send the information somewhere else if you like.
Finally, importing large Word documents is possible, and Confluence automatically.splits the document in a mini page tree if you want.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Confluence editor contains some bugs, sometimes a workaround is needed to get your thing done.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
People often get lost with hundreds of (Word and other) documents in a SharePoint site or other Document management system.
Confluence solves this business problem by throwing out the document layer and by adding links in your Confluence page to the documents that stay documents, your documents become reachable via your wiki page.

Great wiki tool for both internal and external sites

  • June 28, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
I like the new editor. It's much simpler than the old wiki markup language.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the security settings are very granular and powerful, I wish they were simpler to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Information sharing - its great to have a space to share our departments internal to the company information. Additionally we host our developer docs on a 2nd instance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's quite flexible. Make sure you have someone willing to become and expert to set it up.

The best of the best!

  • June 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it helps to centralise all the information of our multiple projects.
It is easy to use and it is perfect to track the evolution of specific cases internally.
Perfect for internal synchronisation, next steps and any other action when different teams are involved in an initiative.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find the look n' feel of the interface a bit old fashion and poor.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All documents used to get lost, it was hard to see what was the next step and who own the next steps. It was difficult to track when was last time we spoke to customer
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is great for us because we want to track properly the follow up of our customers, all the different interactions among the customers and the multiple teams (delivery, support, customer success). It is a great repository to centralise all that information! super user friendly!

Great standalone wiki but an even better companion to any other Atlassian product

  • June 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The integration available with the rest of the Atlassian suite is hard to pass-up. It's easy to link your development ticket back to documentation in the wiki or spawn HipChat discussions directly from links in the wiki.

The permission system allows for a powerful delegation opportunity, which empowers different teams to 'run wild' with their own space within the wiki.
What do you dislike about the product?
My Confluence wiki looks like everyone else's Confluence wiki! The ability to customize the default theme seems generally limited, so the basic look & feel is pretty bland.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able to successfully centralize our documentation across the organization and attached consistent security permissions on it. We now have a reliable single-source-of-truth for all project documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are already invested in other Atlassian products, Confluence should be a shoe-in for you. Conversely, if you buy into Confluence, you will seriously want to consider expanding out and purchase the other Atlassian products.

Do consider going with SaaS as opposed to on-premise if your corporate security policy will allow. The system is not difficult to maintain, but the peace-of-mind that the system is backed up and always available is nice-to-have.

Generates nice knowledge pages with good relation between them.
What do you dislike about the product?
Usability can be improved, not always so simple to build a page with lots of info.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building knowledge database of development

Works well with JIRA

  • June 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The integration with JIRA is great if you are a "JIRA" Shop.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documents do not export easily to other tools. If you need to distribute documents to customer/clients outside of Confluence the tool isn't ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inline documentation within the tools that the team sues.

Great repository for quick access to all documents

  • June 27, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence makes it easy to access historical and current documentations. Easy to customize and organize. Users get up to speed quickly by removing complexities many other tools have
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be cumbersome from a development perspective. Add-ons are expensive. Sometimes larger projects need extensive organization time due to a lack of good UI
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
ecommerce development which houses all documentation revolving around builds, outages and other essential needs for documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure the organization and search capabilities meet your needs. Also implementation and administration initially is cumbersome

Easy user friendly macros to use in addition of the wiki-like look and feel
What do you dislike about the product?
There is really nothing to dislike about this product . Except macros should be easier to work with but impressed with their capabilities
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it at work for software documentation
