What do you like best about the product?
It's user-friendly and easy to navigate. Easy to edit the personal page. the functions pretty easy to edit. There is a lot of online documentation on how to use it, what you can edit, and how to manipulate certain pages. The admistration is easy as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I administration could be a lot more refined and also the setting of the security of the pages. also when setting up the groups and users it could be better by linking the security to a lower level. Multi page security is difficult for certain users. Can not just copy and paste grids in from excel. The grids are hard to copy the content to another grid if they are not the same.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using it for documents storage, documentation, knowledge base, how to, version control l, project status, archiving misc documents, and communication on status.

Very friendly way to edit and keep documents organized

What do you like best about the product?
I love the easiness to edit and organize documents in a hierarchal structure. Documents look nice and professional. The ability to create templates is also very useful. Love collaborative editing and interconnectability with JIRA .
What do you dislike about the product?
Although editing is easy, options are limited when comparing to other tools such as Word. When integrating with JIRA, it doesn't allow to map customized table columns to JIRA issue fields. To see the edit or share options when viewing a page, I need to scroll up first. Sometimes it's not easy to find documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is a repository for technical documentation, meetings notes, etc. It allows to keep all our documents organized in a place. Because it's easy to learn and use, everyone can use Confluence.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how robust the tool is and the things that can be accomplished by tracking and collaborating with others inside Confluence.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how it feels like I have to relearn the tool every time I get into Confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking and communicating project progress, challenges, and decisions. This is a central place to store the information that tends to get overlooked in emails.

Easiest wiki to get staff engagement with

  • April 26, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Staff very quickly were able to understand how to add content to pages, add pages and link between pages. This meant they very quickly started using it to not just add information but to refer to it multiple times per day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm a geek at heart and I wish it's markdown support was better than it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One source of truth for business procedures. This then lead to a single source of truth regarding client site information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it. Especially if you integrate it with other Atlassian products such as JIRA (ticket management), HipChat (IM Client) and Bitbucket (Git/Version control). The deep integration between these products also swayed us in favour of Confluence. (I don't pay for it, but I'm a heavy user of it).

Excellent Documentation Program + Jira Integration

  • April 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has been essential in our group for documenting project notes, deadlines, documentation, etc. We also use it to document templates, internal standards & processes, and knowledge bases. I love that it has so many possibilities and integrations, it is VERY customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only problem I see with Confluence is that it isn't very user friendly unless you are somewhat technical. It's not really plug and play for many. At a software company, we don't have an issue.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Storing client communication in one central location, as well as storing internal company info in one central location. The ability to integrate tickets into status reports has been huge.

    Writing and Editing

Decent for what's intended

  • April 19, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's a blank space that you can configure/organize the way your organization needs. There's a lot of flexibility and it really depends on how you have chosen to configure. The marketplace is great to find a plugin that you need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it's too flexible and can get messy fast. If you leave it open, it can end up a jumbled mess. It still needs someone to manage/organize the content if you want to prevent that from happening.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a decent collaboration tool and being able to go back to previous versions easily is also great.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Don't let it become a messy black hole. Spend some time thinking through how you want to manage the tool so that it works for multiple groups within your organization.
