Amazing software to track producint release and defects.
What do you like best about the product?
We have been using this software for more than 5 years. It's been amazing tool to track records.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has too much clutter which is hard to get rid of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are tracking our engineer in progress with other teams.

What do you dislike about the product?
There could probably be more keyboard shortcuts and/or formatting UI (like Google docs or MS Word) instead of having add-ons/plugins/scripts for certain types of formatting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence can be a central location for all software documentation within a team because it is easily accessible and has good search capabilities.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If using the Atlassian suite of products, Confluence is a good tool to use.
Flexible solution for a variety of workgroups
What do you like best about the product?
There are tons of features and widgets that can be added to pages to really customize things. Overall it is very simple to get started with.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are so many features that many of them are challenging to discover.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This tool really helps my teams to collaborate and communicate more effectively.
Allows our team to store knowledge in a central location.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the integration with Jira. We have been using a package of Confluence, Jira, BitBucket, and HipChat because they all integrate nicely together. Confluence has given our company a nice central place where we can dump knowledge and others can view it. The cloud hosting has been nice because it frees up our IT staff from having to configure servers and settings.
What do you dislike about the product?
The macros available when creating content are a bit overwhelming. It can be hard to look through all of the available macros to find the one that will work for what you are trying to do. It took me a long time to find the display children display macro. Without training, it can be hard to come up to speed on how to use the system. It's not as intuitive as it could be.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our business is using Confluence as a central place to store all company knowledge. Previously, each department had its own way of storing documents and information related to their department. This made it really hard for people in other departments to find the information. We switched to a company wide solution of Confluence and it has helped to keep everyone more informed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to train your users on how to use Confluence. Without training, novice users will struggle to figure out how to create documents in the system and where to store them.
Works fine
What do you like best about the product?
Great place to store information and collaborate. We use it to keep track of process and documentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you happen to lose access to the billing/technical account email they will not help you change it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Been using this product across a few companies without issue. It fits the need.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
None
Great documentation tool
What do you like best about the product?
Tagging and searching capabilities. Confluence is perfect for requirements.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting is time consuming and not intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it to document features and stories and to collaborate with the client
Great internal communication tool and project tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Comments feature - no longer have to email thoughts back and forth to coworkers. Can just drop a comment on a page and tag appropriate parties.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can sometimes be difficult to get back to a comment to view it once you've left the page. I wish there was a way to "view all" comments on a page in a sidebar.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were having difficulties making sure all people involved in projects were up to date on decisions and could easily reference the information they needed.
Great platform for managing archives and data.
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is very customizable. Add-ons can be installed to increase functionality that is tailored to your needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Page editing features are a little lacking. Formatting a page can be difficult at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use confluence to host research projects that can be accessed easily by my colleagues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a very powerful platform. It has applications for just about any profession. Be warned, some IT knowledge is required to fully take advantage of the software.
Full featured but expensive
What do you like best about the product?
The variety of features that Atlassian provides and the robust updates that they roll out.
What do you dislike about the product?
The higher cost and maybe the feeling of being overwhelmed when first using it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is not much quicker to pull KB articles together and we have shortened the time necessary to fully flesh out our documentation.
Great product for documentation
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence makes it easy for our IT department to centralize documentation and put the proper permission structure around it. We switched from solutions from MediaWiki and our old Help Desk software. None of them met the need to house and format our documentation library, but Confluence has simplified this process and is now a tool that the entire department uses. We don't consider the project complete until the implementation team has recorded their documentation in the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the markup language is confusing for less advanced users to edit the documentation. I wish there was a better pricing model for utilizing their cloud offering. As it stands right now, the cost to move to their cloud based offering would be more expensive in two years than an on-premise server with the Confluence software installed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our organization introduced Confluence several years ago to have a single platform across our IT organization to use for documentation. Previously different divisions within IT were using different platforms and there was no standard. This has helped standardize the documentation process for us.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confliuence works really well in combination with other Atlassian products, like Jira. However, these additional products are not required.
