Confluence is a great tool

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence templates make it easy for beginners to quickly get the hang of creating pages.
*Really simple to use
*Can create all pages that you want and organize in spaces.
*Permissions policy for all content.
*Integration with JIRA and Hipchat.
What do you dislike about the product?
The cost increases considerably in large teams. It can also be difficult to create some projects from scratch. Some features aren't always intuitive and searching is not optimal. It can also be slightly overwhelming at times. Finally, it tends to require a lot of add-ons for specific use cases.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We collaborate with large and diverse groups on multiple projects. Our documentation team needs to communicate with QA and developers to coordinate projects and get have our products ready to ship by the release date. Within our team, we have used Confluence to share content with all members, update content status regularly, and keep people generally in the loop.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the capabilities to watch pages, comment on pages, create pages for certain groups. etc. It's a great tool for collaboration especially in the consulting realm!
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to find pages/figure out how to use features. I think the sorting effort could be improved upon. Also when adding an image, the edit tool for this is quite a challenge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps us bridge communication gaps with clients and within teams - allowing me to point everyone I want to a specific location where they can leave feedback and even edit.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Everyone in the business world should use it! Confluence is definitely a great tool for collaboration! Especially inside the consulting world, it's nice to have pages where people in different areas can collectively place information!

A great project management tool!

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is an excellent tool to keep track of searchable documents and communicate effectively in regards to those documents. It is almost like a virtual huddle room, which makes collaborating a much easier task and improves work efficiency throughout your team. Confluence is designed to work well with Jira, which we also use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There have been issues with the amount of accounts and pricing. The pricing varies by the number of users and the features that are chosen. Also, as I stated, Confluence is a great collaboration tool, however, it is slightly behind on how it handles document collaboration. Igloo, another collaboration tool, has markup tools which allow you to draw right on the document to get your point across.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence is making it possible for the company, as well as our team, to complete work effectively with efficiently. Documents and Projects are much more organized, and being able to point directly to one location in order to find all the information you need has solved our organization issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're already using JIRA, Confluence is the only option that makes sense, considering they are designed to work together.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely use Confluence as a means to create technical documents.

Great Tool for Storing Context

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great resource for storing important content, data, and for knowledge share. Lots of times, your most valuable information can be found on a the hard drives of individual employees. I also like the searching functionality
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't particularly like the layout, it can feel a bit dated. But I suppose that is personal preference, though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowledge share! Being able to search and find answers to questions in an easily catalogued platform is the best!

What do you like best about the product?
Integration with Atlassian products. Easy to use. Good change and version history. Ability to watch and share. Some macros are valuable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Managing tree structure a little clunky. No real spreadsheet capability. Limited fonts and styles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We do our epics, requirements and design documentation in Confluence. We also use it for knowledge bases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using JIRA, this is the only logical approach.

Real-time shared documentation - a must for collaborative, high achieving teams

  • March 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The WYSIWIG document layout and the text formatting controls mean creating online documentation is a simple as using a word processor, coupled with the ease of publishing mean that documentation can be done as part of the task or activity
What do you dislike about the product?
The email updates are great - when a page changes which you watch you get an email saying that it changed and what changed. Except what changed doesn't seem to work very well and I often spend a while trying to see what actually changed - even comparing archive copies taken just for this purpose. A simple diff / highlight which works would be great
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In agile teams people need timely and accurate information in order to maintain high performance. With people straddling multiple locations, countries even and time zones its not really a case of going to speak with someone. Confluence makes possible documentation on the fly as part of the task, rather than as a separate discrete task (which lets face it doesn't get done in a hurry). Update something then immediately update the documentation. No need to send emails and potentially miss someone off the DL. Never need to check if you have the latest version again because it is - and an email in your inbox if something changed so you can choose if its relevant to what you're working on. Really improved self empowerment and efficiency
