What do you like best about the product?
I like the search filters that can help you jump to recent pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is, as far as I can tell, no fuzzy searching.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our internal documentation was lacking to say the least. This has improved that quite a bit.

What do you like best about the product?
One of its best advantages is the association with Jira and the option to edit pages by many users wiki style, keeping an historic with highlighter colours.
What do you dislike about the product?
The hierarchy of pages can be confusing sometimes and it might lack some real time interactivity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project organization, software collaboration, editing and keeping historic data, ticketing, dashboard...
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If I had to say something, just make sure the pages follow an easy hierarchy.

'Notes' Sister of Jira

  • January 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use Confluence to share meeting notes and timelines. What we like best is the ability to see who changed what and what exactly they changed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The sidebar and menu at the top are a little confusing to navigate, and since they have the same layout and color scheme as Jira, I initially had trouble distinguishing between them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can securely collaborate with outside companies without having to share all details of a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Create different spaces for each project to help keep notes more organized.

Good means of communicating among large teams

  • January 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence offers flexibility for developers and is part of a robust Atlassian environment. Its a great replacement for a basic internal web site, and offers great document revision control features. Integration with help desk ticketing was a great extension within our company, whereas JIRAs and emails are generated to communicate issues with our help desk team.
What do you dislike about the product?
As confluence offers great document storage services, it also enables users information overload. Ownership of data is lacking, and many communications become stale with time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication, document revision control
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Maintain your data!

"It's complicated"

  • January 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has all the tools you need to run a product/tech project.
It's collaborative and allows a great deal of flexiibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are almost too many options. It can be difficult to find the right set up or manage pages.
The lack of auto save - people are constantly forgetting to save updates causing confusion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Great for blogs, sharing documents and project requirements.
It is a great central place for keeping people updated.

Great with some UI struggles

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is amazingly customizable and the integration with JIRA and HipChat is an amazing plus.
For our team (10 people) the price point is unbeatable.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface leaves a little to be desired for non-technical users (some of our less tech savvy staff struggled with navigating and finding their way around)

I also feel that the JIRA integration could offer a little more (though perhaps that's more of a check against JIRA - I don't know).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
How-tos, Knowledge Base, General Documentation

Confluence is an excellent product

  • January 30, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that each department can have their own space to collaborate on.

Individual articles can be shared between departments so duplication of effort is minimized and all information about a process, or product is as consistent as possible. Everyone needs to be on the same page if customers are to get consistent information.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a little overwhelming to get started but once over that initial hurdle everything goes pretty smoothly.

Until you choose and play around with the various templates when starting a space, it can be a very confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have better communication among the members of the team and better sharing of information. This allows team members a place to look for information before interrupting others. This has helped team morale and productivity.

Other benefits that have been realized is that with the adoption by a couple of teams, more teams in our company are wanted to have spaces created so they can start capturing knowledge.

We have gone from a company where knowledge on a specific topic was only in the head of one person, to the team having access.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My recommendation is that if you are considering Confluence, this product allows for the separation of departments, or the ability to share specific articles between departments.

If you create a knowledge base it be publicly shared as well so you customers can get access to common guides and materials.

A decent way of documenting

What do you like best about the product?
I like the new feature of tabs--it helps keep pages much cleaner for documentation purposes.
What do you dislike about the product?
Searching is overwhelming. There has to be a better way to search using more than just keywords.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This provides a central location for storing documentation about our customers and processes.
