Confluence Review
What do you like best about the product?
The program is pretty easy to use. Has decent functionality
What do you dislike about the product?
Having to keep files the exact same name when posting new documents (no easy way to replace)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this to roll out templates to the Sales team. We also use the program to house SOPs.
Confluence - A great tool for organizing big projects
What do you like best about the product?
I think the best part about Confluence is how flexible the file structure/page tree organization is within an organized space. This allows you to organize all aspects of a big project (documentation, notes, sub-categories, etc.) in an outline-like structure, that can be quickly glanced over to help other team members find exactly what they are looking for.
What do you dislike about the product?
The hardest part about Confluence is getting started. It's easy to be overwhelmed by the endless number of choices and opportunities that are available when starting with a blank space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main business problem that our team solves with Confluence is having a shared, virtual space where team members across several remote/office locations can access and organize project or team-specific documents and resources. I think the biggest benefit that has been realized by using Confluence is the increase in visibility that comes from sharing documents in a tool/shared location vs. relying on email search and storage for communication.
Confluence. Great for WIKIs but not much else.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease in which you can create a WIKI and the nice format they are done in.
What do you dislike about the product?
Pretty much everything else beyond WIKIs. Unfortunately the software is not a great platform to work in and is not conducive to the way people work. In addition the company is a pain to work with and doesn't seem like they care about their customers or working with their customers. Support from Atlassian for this platform leaves much to be desired.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Originally used as an Intranet and for a basic one it does that well. Was easy to implement and use.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would personally recommend looking elsewhere unless you are heavily invested in Atlassian products. These days SharePoint is probably a better offering if you need collaboration functionality.
confluence is pretty good
What do you like best about the product?
highly customizable charting, sql functionality, social
What do you dislike about the product?
that i'm such a noob at setting up my team's pages. but, it's been a good learning experience.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
charting tickets, ticket response times, active tickets and such. we also put much of our documentation on confluence in order to have it centralized.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
become familiar with your sql stuff in order to pull info
Great product!
What do you like best about the product?
Seemless document sharing and viewing is the best part!
What do you dislike about the product?
Often times there are unauthorized edits that can be a problem.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having multiple users view and edit documents seemlessly, improves turn-around time and workflow speed.
good product for sharing information
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use, simple design. very intuitive and to the point
What do you dislike about the product?
the way policies are applied. no clear solution when you have conflicting policies
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
when an issue occurred, it was easy to look up when we started seeing the issue and compare to what what done to determine root cause.
Knowledge sharing with conflunece
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is like a huge scrapbook. If you have any idea you can put it down and share it with your team members. It makes collaboration very easy because information is available all the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really don't have any issues with confluence
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration, product documentation
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try to put structure to your documentation so its easy to find stuff and also easy to use
Knowledge Base and collaboration for teams
What do you like best about the product?
ease of use and consistent interface with other Atlassian products. the simplified settings page for personalization. creating a new page is so easy and intuitive. I am also impressed by the calendar feature which can be used as a planning tool and subscribed to by members of a team. It also integrates to the active directory. For technical or administrative roles, upgrading to a newer version is a breeze
What do you dislike about the product?
not sure how easy to share content with external customers. Dynamics CRM or salesforce integration will make this a perfect tool for my organization. Today, sales guys need to browse to two systems to get work done. Also, support team needs to use two different systems as well. If there is an integration out of the box, it will make them work from one system
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
collaboration, meeting notes, documentation, articles and knowledge base.
One of the business improvements I will like to achieve is for staff to reduce the number of different applications they browse to for their daily work
One of the business improvements I will like to achieve is for staff to reduce the number of different applications they browse to for their daily work
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence is a good tool. It is easy to solve collaboration amongst technical teams and produce knowledge base articles. Spaces can be created for different products and/ or services based on choice. The calendar feature is also good for managing team calendars and can be subscribed to. Confluence integrates to other products like Jira, ServiceDesk, Stash, HipChat out of the box for people that already invested in Atlassian products.
Seamless experience
What do you like best about the product?
The creation of widgets and macros were the best features. It helped me customize my notes to a great extent
What do you dislike about the product?
The color combination is too close to the UI for facebook. It's a little confusing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The top problems it solved was tagging Peers without having to add them directly. All I had to do was sync my outlook contacts with confluence and jira
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do a cloud based trial run alongside other attlassian products
Its Ok
What do you like best about the product?
Web-based interface makes it easy to access from most any device, if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
Easy to forget to unlock a document so that others can make changes if needed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Useful for collaboration and preserving documentation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
it is good for what it does.
