Efficient documentation
What do you like best about the product?
This is a great product for creating/maintaining documents of any sort. It has all features of a word editor, and integration with other Atlassian products. There are multiple plugins available to include images, powerpoint presentations, UML diagrams into the document.
What do you dislike about the product?
A document edited by multiple users might not seem proper once all changes are merged.

Use other products like JIRA to leverage product integrations
We use the confluence Wiki

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our company holds a lot of documents for various departments. Confluence solves the problem of where to put al
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think hard about the overall "file folder" system as you develop out your Confluence structure. That way, when users start creating pages, they are done in an organized way.
Easy to use, collaborative software
What do you like best about the product?
I used Confluence in the days of Wiki markup language and picked up on it within a month. My team was in the middle of building a wiki to streamline the onboarding process for new software engineers and other IT personnel. This software allowed us to upload multiple documents in various formats into one easy-to-use solution.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Wiki markup language did get in the way at times as certain features were not available on the toolbar. Since Confluence has done away with the code, I'm sure it's ease of use has only improved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We resolved issues with being unable to find the latest version of documents and access issues previously experienced through software like SharePoint.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Host a team training meeting to introduce the software.
Confluence is very helpful to share information

Confluence Review
What do you like best about the product?
Makes it easy to collaborate and track comments in addition to the progress of particular requests. The ability to attach support and add watchers as necessary is also a plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
The UI is a bit simple, however I think that also allows it to be very easy to use for all levels of background. I have found other competitors to have a more updated UI but not the efficient functionality.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving collaboration across functions, making sure projects are completed and what the issues were in completion. The benefits were well received across the company.
Get things done
What do you like best about the product?
The tool is easy to use and manage. I started using Confluence recently, and I had "fear of new software". Learning new tool especially if it is not related to career directly is last thing I need. I would rather spend my time where it is worth it.
But confluence was easy to use and navigate. I do not remember going through formal training process, which is achievement in its self. We call it wiki internally, because that is what it really is.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it had better flow chart diagrams, something like Visio has. Adding Visio extension would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it wiki to store all internal documents, process flows, new hiring, best practices, etc. We are using Jira and BitBucket too. So it is nice to have all those integrated.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for easy to use tool to manage your internal document, I would recommend Confluence. This is especially true if you are using other Atlassian products already.
Shared content management
What do you like best about the product?
Confluence has many advantages - the most impressive being the ease of creating shared content and ability of this to link to other atlassian products (e.g. JIRA and bitbucket). Simple page layouts, intuitive structure and a host of add-ons allow you to create quite advanced pages and keep track of all users commits and comments. Having 40+ people in a work place makes confluence an ideal first stop for building our content and research in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the formatting can be quite annoying - especially simple things like tables and images. Its not quite there as a word processing document yet (like Word) which is what I would expect a piece of software like this to be aiming for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a startup and so we have lots of ideas, research and reviewing to be undertaken. Confluence has provided a central system where we can collaborate on pushing the company forward through our ideas and research. The ability to comment on pages allows a very useful track of all previous thoughts so we can ensure that at the end we have the best information possible.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sign up for a trail period especially if you are using JIRA and bitbucket as they all integrate very well. make sure you checkout the add ons as there are alot of very useful tools that rarely seem to get used e.g. (adding blocks of code)
