Great collaborative software to help develop projects

  • January 22, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I found out that Confluence's integration with other platforms such as Hipchat helps a lot when you are working in a project because most of the time you will need to transfer files from one platform to another, so this integration beween them is really useful. Also the wide range of different templates that you can work with is an excellent feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
Confluence can get quite expensive when you have a whole team using it. I also dislike it's layout and design, I find it confusing and it can take quite a while before you really understand how to navigate through the software.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence helped me develop a project with a small-sized team that aimed to organize in a more eficient way our company's financial balance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make good use of Confluence's many tutorials because in the begininng it can be quite hard to navigate through the software. There are inumerous tutorials that will help you get the grasp of Confluence quickly and efectively.

Collaboration Done Well

  • January 21, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a great place for EVERYTHING "Insert Company Name Here". This is YOUR company page to collaborate and work together on projects. If I ever have any questions on How-To's or company procedure, I can do a search on Confluence and find what i need. A great way to create project one-pagers. Great sub layering for different departments. Confluence can scale with your business really well.
What do you dislike about the product?
The design and user experience is a bit choppy, however most wiki type sites tend to be. This isn't a deal breaker, would love to see it look a little nicer design wise.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project communication with multiple stakeholders. This is the standard place to find information on any project or subject being worked on. I've realized it's very important to keep consistent your collaboration between teammates. Medium of communication is huge.

Confluence + Hipchat = smoothest video chat experience

  • January 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We work on a very large, sprawling campus/ Using Confluence with Hipchat has enabled us to have meetings with departments and team members across campus with the least difficulty/hiccups we've ever experienced. Bottom line: a solid resource, a great option to have, and a really a fantastic integrated video chat platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, the design. This isn't a big deal because the functionality is so good, but for a platform like this I expect a little sleeker look and slightly more intuitive design/interface. (And actually, the robots are pretty cute.) But otherwise, Confluence has been really important for us in our collaborations and video conferences and calls.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Again, we work on a large campus and sometimes have teams composed of members that work in many different departments. Also, we are able to record the decisions that we have made during conferences and meetings, which has been hugely helpful in terms of documentation/paper trail, even with video conferences/calls. Because we all know how frustrating it is to have a decision made and no record to back it up. Confluence makes that easy, integrated, natural, and seamless.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Integrate with Hipchat!

Confluence review

  • January 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Using it for close to a year now at our company for FAQs we are asked in customer service, I can start typing in a couple keywords and there's at least a 50/50 chance I'll see the answer to that question immediately.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the UI could be updated a bit to look a bit more sleek and modern... ie larger fonts, more spacing (think Typeform)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Huge repository of product related data for our support team to reference. Benefit: the same questions don't need to be asked repetitively, saving tons of time in the long run.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great internal database to use that keeps on growing. Notifications are handy there as well.

It's an OK wiki tool

  • January 20, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy enough to use, I guess. It's just a run of the mill tool for creating a wiki. I don't know why you would buy one.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's sort of hard to know what kind of content to create. Best practices aren't really that clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
They replaced a wiki tool with it. I'm not sure why. Maybe it was free with JIRA.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
More workflows or best practices. Show others in your group how to use it.
