Good in theory... lags a ton!

What do you like best about the product?
I love the categorization of different issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
The more data that's there, the more it lags.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We report bugs and get updates on them and communicate them for folks that are relevant. Also is searchable for future reference.

Internal Wiki Administrator

What do you like best about the product?
Everything about Confluence is very logical. From page hierarchy to group security settings, it can be picked up pretty easily.
What do you dislike about the product?
The space permissions can be somewhat counter intuitive. Lack of visibility into overall space permissions can lead to unexpected consequences when overall space permissions cancel out the "locked vs unlocked" security settings set at a local level by an unsuspecting user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We host our company's intranet and do all knowledge sharing on accounts via Confluence.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Perfect choice for an internal wiki, especially considering the tie in to other Atlassian tools.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Provides a way for our team to collaborate on discussions, projects, documentation when we are all in different physical locations.

A better version of Sharepoint

  • January 19, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
My first exposure to Confluence is at my current job. It provides a friendly intuitive interface similar to Sharepoint but with a much more simpler UI that fits today's typical standards. Easy to update which creates a nice presentation.
What do you dislike about the product?
While the features to link and show actually show Google Spreadsheet content is great, it would have been extremely handy to edit documents directly in Confluence rather than clicking a link to edit the document. This would have really streamlined the process for me and my group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Confluence primarily as a resource for each team at my company. We're still in the early phases but this will be a great way to really understand what other teams are working on and obtain relevant resources without needing to ask individual members of that team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a easy to use interface to collaborate with other members, I'd at check out Confluence as it has the tools you need to start collaboration in an organization.

What do you like best about the product?
The interface is clean and easy to use. It takes very little time to become familiar with how it works so you can spend more time creating pages to share information with your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the page organization function is a little obstinate and will refuse to change your pages location.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence allows us to keep an ever growing team up to date with all the changes and greatly helps with onboarding new employees.

    Information Technology and Services

Confluence

  • January 19, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Integrates well with other Atlasssian products, also has good integrations with third party systems and applications
What do you dislike about the product?
Permissions and restrictions are a disaster, user management is a bit of a nightmare. System upgrades while easy to apply can sometimes break the system or other plugin support. Overall pretty clunky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to share info amongst teams. That is really the only big benefit we wee. I wish it had a better employee directory function with ties to ADP/PeopleSoft/Oracle , etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find another solution.

Confluence for internal collaboration

  • January 19, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The confluence web app has a great interface for collaborating efficiently with the team members. I particularly like the tagging feature to notify team members to take action.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being a web app, it can sometimes feel slow and sluggish. WYSIWIG editors never feel native enough for me, but that's a personal preference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking projects and conversations via email was hectic. Confluence puts all the assets for a project in one central location.
