Amazing Project Management Tool

  • January 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of assigning new tasks to other individuals
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no notification reminder to finish tasks. At times, tasks are left unfinished because of it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting projects completed which involve several team members. With the more members involved in a project, the more likely there will be holes in communication. However, Confluences helps with keeping communication, comments, and tasks responsibilities strong.

Great for knowledge sharing!

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is fairly easy to understand, and is a great place to allow for real-time updates and tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Charts don't allow for formulas, which limits what I can use them for, plus, the page tends to slow way down when you put a lot of data on it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team needs a secure place to house information that is necessary for our team or company. Confluence is an easy place to store things.

Great for doing user guides

  • January 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The fact that it has a simple interface and easy to use. It has good features like adding documents, links, linking text to content from another page, adding images or videos.
What do you dislike about the product?
As much as I like that is simple sometimes it is TOO plain, there should be more tools regarding placing the images wherever on the page, more color selection for font, adding columns or moving content tables around the page.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Doing manuals of processes since it is organized and you can store pages under others to divide by topics for example. The information boxes like ''warning'' or ''important'' are useful when we want the person reading to pay attention to something important while reading the guide. It is easy to update and it sends a notification to everyone when you do it, so employees are always updated with new info at the moment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When deleting pages it should be easier to find the option, to this day I don't know where to do this neither the admin user finds it easy to do so.

Confluence - a lifesaver!

  • January 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We have docs stored all over google docs, we didn't know what belonged to what section. Confluence helped get our training process in place, as well as an in-depth, easy-to-navigate knowledge base for all our agents.

Highly recommend!
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not found anything yet that I don't recommend, but we just started using this last month.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Fast, easy to find answers keep our call times down.

A Reliable Place for Documentation

  • January 18, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Confluence is a very simple interface that can adapt to be as complex as you would like. Our company has endless processes that require documentation and it handles the workload easily. We also utilize the software to handle sprint planning for our development team. Coupled with JIRA, these two allow most of our company's task to be handled and organized without much intervention needed. A brand new employee can quickly learn the interface and start work fast.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search feature is a bit archaic. It could use some updating. Often times searching for a single word is the best path. Because of this, it can take some getting used to. However, this is not site breaking. It is easy enough to work around once you have learned more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Documentation allows training and transparency. As a startup our company is constantly in flux and needs to be able to call upon our documentation and procedures quickly. Again, while using JIRA as well, the software works in tandem to create a very powerful suite. Organization is key to work efficiency and Confluence excels at that.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will use Confluence more than you realize. The more you utilize the software, the more it can benefit you. It may seem overwhelming to document your entire process and workflow, but once you start knocking out the tasks, your Onboarding process and Training process can go so much smoother. A must have for young companies.

Easy experience for beginner-intermediate users

  • January 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
If you are a newbie or have limited experience with similar tools and functionality, it is easy to understand how to add tables, create linkages and sub-pages, and to link to other programs (e.g. JIRA) to track important stories and progress for projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is monkey when formatting for a table and you cannot set the width without some manual effort. Also, I wish more integrations with additional programs were an option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly we use Confluence for cross matrix tracking and product documentation. It is a valuable internal resource for quickly finding the information needed.

What do you like best about the product?
Great repository for documenting and sharing out requirement sets with stakeholders.
What do you dislike about the product?
While Confluence's WYSIWYG editor has come a long way, it could still stand improving. A lot unnecessry time is spent making grammatical corrections (esp when working with bulletted lists).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working from an integrated suite of Atlassian products, we're able to leverage from a number of features that help stream our workflow and reduce time spent tracking tickets against requirements and chat discussions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time necessary to map out and index how you expect your documentation to scale over time.

So Much Information

  • January 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that it's easy to use and a great place to keep tons of information. I like that it integrates with JIRA but its hard to make sure you do it the right way. Does serve as a good internal hub of information for the company.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's hard to keep organized and up to date. There is also almost TOO much you can do with it that it makes it overwhelming and hard to follow. The search function needs to be updated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's the wiki for all things! The answer to your question definitely lives on confluence.. the problem is..how do you find it?
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you only put things on there that are NOT constantly changing. It's hard ot stay on top of and things can get easily lost

Confluence as an Internal Product Wiki - Review

  • January 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the fact that there is a low learning curve for getting users up and running in Confluence. I also like how easy it is to organize and search for content.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this point in time, there isn't anything specific that I dislike about Confluence.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's a great environment for our internal product wiki. Some users even create their own call logs and meeting notes in their own workspaces, so I am definitely seeing adoption of the tool and benefits in multiple areas.

Confluence Is A Great Collaboration Tool

  • January 17, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use, pretty intuitive and easily managed throughout the organization. You are able to set permissions appropriately so that everyone has their role and ability to post and edit as required by their role. There are a great number of plugins that allow you to add details creatively to pages as well as allow for better search and readability of the pages.
What do you dislike about the product?
Formatting can sometimes be challenging with new lines and html formatting. While there are several plugins that can be utilized within Confluence, I've found some of them to be only marginally useful because of the lack of settings available for them. If you are not careful in how you structure your pages, you can get yourself into an administrative nightmare.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confluence has allowed us to easily create corporate wikis or such for sharing data about our product and easily keeping that data up-to-date. It has allowed us to collaborate with customers by giving them access to certain pages and allowing them to make comments on requirements, etc.
