What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to create and organize pages with Confluence
What do you dislike about the product?
The search capabilities in Confluence are pretty poor. If a page is not tagged a certain way, it can be difficult to find it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Confluence to store and manage our product documentation. This allows us to turn things from word-of-mouth into documented processes.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a good document storage system, but make sure that you properly tag and organize your pages because it is hard to find them via search.

Document Management Made Easy

  • December 20, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I enjoyed the most was the ability to work on a live document among your teammates in various locations. Confluence enabled us to streamline our process regarding large document creation so that individuals could work on their individual sections and other sections they were privy to. The editing system, though limited in my opinion, operated in a simplistic fashion, which was appreciated. Also appreciated, and utilized, were the comments and privacy settings.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I disliked the most was the lack of control in the editing menu. I felt as though I was unable to make formatting changes to the document that I could have easily made in another, and more commonly used, editing application (e.g. Microsoft Word).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The business problems that we were addressing in using Confluence, was shared document creation. We were able to use Confluence to work on a large scale project (creating operating procedures and other manuals for our office) simultaneously across teams.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is easy to navigate for beginner, intermediate and advanced IT/computer users.

What do you like best about the product?
I love the ability to easily add documentation and collaborate with my team. It makes reviewing new releases simple and annotating documents seamless.
What do you dislike about the product?
I minor point that I dislike is that Confluence defaults on being notified for small edits to documents. I wish there was a way to turn off notifications for certain documents.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
A knowledge base of all our product releases.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your team is all onboard with how to use Confluence. There is bit of a learning curve but it can be solved with "learning by doing."

What do you like best about the product?
- The editor with very good, easy to use, helpful/useful features.
- Integration with Jira.
- Easy to document, maintain and navigate all the project artifacts in a single platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be extended to add better design docs as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- All the product related artifacts, Product/Feature requirements and Design docs, meeting notes and other miscellaneous docs, are kept under one roof. Any team member with the permissions can edit and update them any time without any issues and keep these documents updated. Also, these updates are notified to the intended users. The features status can be tracked with a Jira ticket linked in the confluence document.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good tool for project/product Dev/QA to maintain and organize all the artifacts.

Confluence for Documentation

  • December 19, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Easy to write up fast documentation and then come back to format it as necessary. We use it when we are adding additional information that the whole team or company need to know.
What do you dislike about the product?
Copy and paste functionality from Microsoft Office applications is often pretty bad. The page will skip around and never seems to work the formatting the way you would expect it to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have an issue with documenting process, procedure and release information. This helps us solve it by giving us a centralized place to put it and then giving us the chance to modify it as we go or pretty it up as needed.

Excellent Collaboration Tool

  • December 19, 2016
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Articles are easy to construct and contain many helpful tools.
Tasks are easily assigned tracked.
Great platform for storing and sharing information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Mostly, the calendar:
Alerts are limited in their functionality.
It would be nice to have a auto refresh on the calendar. If the calendar is left open until the following day, the previous day is still highlighted as current.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have been able consolidate our data in a centralized location. This has allowed us to maintain a standard process for many of our shared functions, while also having the flexibility to make changes on the fly. We have also significantly reduced the amount of paper we use and become more efficient.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Confluence can be useful in a variety of ways. We use it to store data about our processes, including how-to articles, which makes training new employees easier. Additionally, meeting notes are saved and can always be referenced for future use. Lastly, we have been able to streamline certain in house functions, by standardizing the flow and being able to store it in an easily accessible place for all users to share. If you need help in any of these areas, Confluence may be a good fit for you.
